Normally, not having compared next to EMT 930, I prefer the Schopper TD 124 the most of these idlers, and I also liked dcc's TD 124 made by Jaap Pees.
However, here the vdh on Graham Phantom was disturbing the balance of the system. And the EMT with EMT arm and EMT cart sounded more balanced and musical, even though a bit less detail.
Jaap says the EMT can't be made as quiet as the 124.
The Technics was interesting. Jaap uses it only as a measurement reference, to get the 124 as close as possible to that measurement (he restores and completely does up all these idlers). He does like listening to the Technics, and we both agreed why in sound - he also does not like hunt and seek or feedback.
However, he said the OMA cast iron plinth which has damping built in it that you can feel from the underside, is the best possible for reducing noise. And very expensive to make.
The lower half was more nuanced on the technics. it was decent, but it had a flat/narrow sound in the vertical dimension.
