Gryphon Antileon Revelation Help

The Commander is a beast, no comparison to Pandora. I moved from Pandora to Commander. The difference is HUGE.

The Zena is very different sonically, if you go the Zena route use Zena pre and Zena monos. This is a very very nice combination.

I have not heard the new Antileon Revelation, but I love my Antileon Evo mono blocks. Commander and Antileon is a dream combination.

Zena monos?

Replace Zena with Essence in my comment. Sorry.

I know Zach well. He spent 3 days here a couple of years ago with Todd and Gale setting up my Orions. I’ll message you when they come back out here in November/December.
Hey, just another shout out for great setup service by The Sound Environment in Omaha, NE. I recently moved, and TSE packed and setup my Sasha DAW's in my new dedicated room. Zach and Gale are outstanding at what they do and I am lucky to be able to call them friends. Also, a shout out to Todd from TSE. He did the final positioning and voicing of my Sasha's to the room. He is very meticulous, has a great ear and I believe he is one of the best setup guys around. He's also a super nice man and again, I'm lucky to call him a friend. I've been a customer of TSE for 50+ years, I used to ride my bike to their original site in Lincoln, NE when I was a kid. There are a number of of really great high end systems in the Omaha area, and the common thread for all these is The Sound Environment. Omaha is a little "Mecca" in the midwest, lol.

Do you think the Essence Preamplifier would be a good match for the Antileon Revelation?

It would be ok. I’ve used a Zeno with an Evo. Personally I’m interested in seeing what replaces the Pandora sometime ( I hope) in 2026. You can get a used Commander in the 40-45k range when they come up from time to time if that’s in your price range.

Could you tell me which unit gets hotter in a Commander, the PSU or the Control Unit?

Both units don’t get very hot, the Commander doesn’t consume lots of power. The power supply unit is a bit warmer on the hands than the Control unit.

I had the Pandora before. While the Pandora is certainly a potent pre amplifier, the Commander plays entirely in another league. If you can manage somehow to get your Antileon Revelations to be driven by the Commander, it will blow your mind. The Antileon will become much bigger and stronger.

Well, my plan was to replace my Gryphon Essence amplifier with an Antileon Revelation, but… I came across the opportunity to buy a used Commander and I made the payment this morning, so the Revelation will have to wait. My idea is to put the two Commander units in a StandArt cabinet, as shown in the picture, but I was worried that they would generate too much heat and that the ventilation wouldn't be sufficient.

Congratulations.

I dont see them getting too hot in the StandArt cabinet. The Commander Control unit is very very pretty from the top, you dont want to hide it.

I recently heard the Estelon X Diamond speakers using a large Pillium amp and preamp (both current models). I thought the combination sounded great. It did not in any way sound sterile to me. It was in a very good room which was set up by a well known professional, with the room minimally treated and not in any way overtreated (as some seem to be doing these days). So you may want to consider auditioning a Pillium amp/preamp set up which is within your budget to see what you think.
Hi everyone. I ama about to buy some electronics to drive my Estelon X Diamond Signature Edition. I tried MSB Premier and S500 but found to sterile any bright for my taste altough it had the biggest holographic soundstage and detail i ever heard.
Anyways, now my dealer offered Gryphon for me but in my budget i can my 3 combinations. Considering that i am a fan of Huge Soundstage and Holography which one sould do the job better? (ok i have a dedicated trated room and have a good speaker setup) By the way i will use my beloved Mola Mola Tambaqui as roon end point and stream qobuz on roon.
I do not have all the components at the same time to compare but i had some gryphon class a stuff and i loved them at that time.
1. Zena Pre + Antileon Revelation Stereo
2. Commander Pre + Antileon Revelation Stereo
3. Zena Pre Antileon Revelation Monoblocks

Thank you for your time.

Congratulations.

I would really like to have the control unit up top, but the Taiko Olympus has to go there.

I know what you mean. Space is always a problem. I am just splitting my system to gain space. On my main rack will be only Gryphon Commander, Nagra HD DAC X and the Stax headphone amp. I run AES/EBU, fibre and XLR interconnects between the main rack and the new "sources" station where Aurender N30SA, Gryphone Ethos will stand.

The vendors are going crazy, the new Aurender N50 is 3 boxes.

Please share your thoughts regarding the Commander with the Essence once you’ve had a chance to listen for a while.

Okay, I'll do that.
The seller has confirmed that I can pick up the Commander tomorrow, so I expect to have it next week.

It arrived and it's working

If they're the same size, give or take a centimeter.
As for the sound, since it's been in a truck traveling around Europe for a week, I prefer to wait a day or two before commenting. It's not that I don't like what I hear, quite the opposite, but I want it to settle completely.
