For what it's Worth-Tesla

Tesla could be a tad biased.

It was reported as a fire, not a detonation.
well if you saw the video it was clearly a detonation. I'm stunned that doors and windows were intact.

Technically a deflagration and an explosion are not the same, but they could look similar.
Only just saw the “explosion” video.
It certainly seems odd to be carrying fireworks and fuel around, but having a gunshot wound to the head is not what most call “normal” either.

Does it bother anybody as a privacy rights matter that it is easier for the government (only upon law enforcement request, of course ) to use electric vehicles to track you than it is to use internal combustion engine vehicles to track you?

No different than your ISP or Cell Phone company. The man knows where you are and what you are doing .

How true...yesterday my wife and I were talking about needing a new mattress in one of our spare bedrooms and within 5 minutes she had ads pop up on her Face Book re mattresses for sale

Just make sure to trade your smartphone for a flip phone when driving the ICE car :)

Car show Brussels.

The front end of the new Model Y is looking like a mini Cyber Truck. I wonder if Tesla will adopt that look for all models including their sedans.

I love the genius of Elon Musk

A charging station, a diner with robot servers and a drive in theater. In Hollywood but likely soon to be opening all over the country

Mixed feelings. Initially it reminded of thinking about what's old is new again, but that also made me wonder about calling something old a new name. For example how all the news organizations are calling the weather "deadly heat waves" and other stupid shit that we use to just call summer.

I can't see how you're going to really watch a movie, and it's probably annoying if you just want to get a charge. It's all very adult-child. The robot serving popcorn is actually really fun and novel. I'm curious how comfortable the white stools are because it's really nice to see a place without those atrocious stamped metal stools/chair-stools/chairs that are the most deleteriously things ever made for sitting. The food makes me curious. Clearly all the disposable packaging for the food looks like the dreaded forever-plastic coated paper - I'm not sure if any alternatives are actually real for paper. I will say the Cybertruck box looks neat even if it's more toxic trash. Were I a child today I'd want one not stained with grease.

Critics are quite amusing about the whole thing with just a focus to make Elon look bad. A Jalopnik article notes, "rather than objectively healthier oils like canola or rapeseed" seemingly completely oblivious to any facts given that rapeseed is the original name for the canola producing weed. Yes, it's a weed. The irony here is that basically everyone cuts their "beef tallow" fry oil with atrocious amounts of rapeseed/canola oil or similar seed oils. Does Elon cut the beef tallow like everyone else? Are there seed oils (including avocado, lard, and chicken) in the buns or other items? On a personal note pure beef tallow fried potatoes are absolutely divine. That same author from Jalopnik goes on to talk about waygu being from Japan, the massages, yada yada, ignorant to the fact that you can bet your life on their meat being American Waygu for a lot of reasons. He also seems to miss the fact that marbling is MUFA, and other fat on a cow is higher in PUFA, which does substantially different things to flavor and mixing in food when talking about the chili. Hate Elon all you want, the food at face value here looks stellar despite the hit pieces about it.

Tesla is running on fumes now. Sales are rapidly deteriorating all across the world. Each new earnings report is worse than the previous one. The glory days are possibly over. So he has to resort to theatrics like the Tesla diner. Or telling his investors that his Optimus humanoid will take over the world. I wish him luck. He’s going to need it.

The world of EVs is rapidly accelerating and the newer models from China and Germany get far more miles than the best Tesla model. I read recently that the latest German EVs can recharge from 10-90% in 20 minutes.

Thanks to Elon’s political activities, he’s burned his bridges with a lot of potential buyers. While I’m perfectly happy with my 5-year-old Model S, there’s no chance in hell I’d buy another Tesla given the prevailing sentiment. I’m worried for my life each time I drive my Model S. Teslas continue to be vandalized everywhere. It’s shocking that folks are taking out their frustrations on the cars, but I can’t control human behavior.

well FWIW, lineups to get in are hours long. And let's face it, "this is Hollywood baby

I give it thumbs up ....and BTW we have 4 Teslas but what do I know

Elon meets the classic definition of an idiot savant. He’s a brilliant visionary in many ways, but has a lot to learn about human empathy. No one on Wall Street thinks his extracurricular activities have helped Tesla. Now he wants to start a new third political party. He’s clearly distracted from the original mission of Tesla and it shows. The product line is aging and the Cybertruck is a massive failure.

You know all these giant malls around the country that no one goes to anymore leaving behind giant empty parking lots. Guess what’s filling them up these days? Unsold Teslas! They probably have the largest unsold inventory of any car company on the planet.

Like I said, I wish him luck. My advice to him is to stop retweeting crazy conspiracy theories and get back to doing what he does best. Stay focused on the mission. A great example for him to follow is the CEO of nVidia who’s built a $4 trillion company by staying focused on the mission.

Very true but last I looked Elon is still the richest man in the galaxy. Not bad for someone on the spectrum

I'm seeing a lot of stickers on Tesla's saying things like "I bought this before Elon went crazy" and things like that. I'm pretty sure that this, like many things will blow over.

The real threat to Tesla is in China, with the government focusing their subsidies on EV's and the anti-American sentiment that I've read some Chinese have toward American products.

I have an Audi Q-8 eTron and will never own a gas powered car again.
