Mono's have been playing since yesterday morning and I think they are almost there. My guess is these guys need around 3-5 days to settle in and maximize their potential. I like what little I have had time to walk in their today but you can easily notice the changes and they expand in all ways and they sound more and more effortless.
I hope to have some listening time Friday to finalize everything and be totally ready for the event on Saturday. If you are coming I think you are in for a treat.
Congratulations on the EMM. I have been listening to their equipment for over 20 years and have found them remarkable. Hope the event went well.

Atalante 5 from Revival in the room for some play time
Lot of speaker for under 6k a pair

So the party is over. Everyone has gone home and what's left is me to do some serious listening to the EMM mono power amps. I think my initial reaction to them was they are cooler sounding than the stereo amp in my system. I wasn't sure how much time they need to settle in and how many hours they actually had on them or even when they were last played. I left them on for a few days until we had the event. So this week I went back to a normal routine with putting them in stand buy and in this case turning the Riviera Preamp off. I have done this for a few days. Anyway yesterday I had one of my new clients in and we did a few tunes. First I discovered that someone had screwed with the settings on my Wadax server , I assume at the party so I went through adjusting them with him present and got them dialed in for the system as it exists right now. I also think that my speakers got moved a smidge so I readjusted that and away we went.
I feel differently today then my initial reaction. The stereo version still might be warmer ( i would have to go back and listen to it in the system again) but what my initial feeling about it being cool or coolish is now changed. Its an extremely clean and clear amp with seemingly unlimited headroom but it does this not at the expense of being analytical or cool or whatever word you want to use. I think these are truly fun to listen to and I believe very neutral to me. They have incredible detail, dynamics both large scale and micro, have weight and drive, make your toe tap and have the ability to let you just forget that you are listening to a sound system. I like that very much.

A comparison between the EMM Labs DA2i & the Wadax Studio Player would be interesting
I'm not in the review business :) I do have both of them in my place and will probably have the EMM transport when its available so it could be done. I think in the next few weeks that perhaps they can all do the same things so a comparison would be possible then.
Both do Roon, Both Play discs, Both Do Qobuz connect etc. at this time that is not possible. BTW EMM is going to also have a deal i am told that if you buy the DAC and Transport at the same time ( only the same time) that the combo will cost approx. the same thing as the studio player so it could be interesting.

I have listened to the MTRS with the EMM Labs PRE & DV2 V3 but not with Goebel speakers. Your description at post #8 about rhythm & timing does mirror my experience. There was an intensity and excitement about the sound - not forwardness, mind you - even when I turned down the volume.
