* Did you watch a film last night (on Blu or DVD), and what was it? *

I suppose. It just didn't seem as creepy anymore. Perhaps because 30 Days of Night brought the creepy factor to the "trapped in the dark" concept to a whole 'nuther level. I was more disappointed in that respect. I promised my kids a scary movie. They weren't all that scared. Kid's and horror movies are a tough thing. How do you serve up the thrill without going overboard?

Jack,

What can I say about creepy and scary at this point. When I saw The Exorcist as a first run film in the theater I thought at the time that it was scary as all get out. The same was true of the first Alien movie. The kids these day don't think that these films are so scary anymore and they want even better special effects.

I know what you mean. That's what makes it tough. I don't want to cross the line and pull out SAW and the like. Maybe I'll just make them watch River Monsters on the Animal Planet instead. The episode on the Goliath Tiger Fish freaked them out more than Pitch Black! ;) ;) ;)

Finished watching all 6 six seasons of Lost on Blu-Ray.

All I can say is WOW -- that was frikken great.

Highly recommend that you guys get ahold of the first season. You can get it used on blu-ray for around $20.

Watch the first three or four episodes and see if you like it.

If you do and you continue, this is one of the most interesting, addictive and intense experiences you'll ever have in your theater.

I guarantee it is nothing like anything you've ever seen before.

I recommended this to a buddy who is a big movie buff and he and his girlfriend got so hooked they watched the whole thing in about two weeks.

They watched one whole season in one day because they were so hooked and couldn't stop watching.

They caught up to us and the four of us watched the final episode together last night.

I'll say it again -- wow.

Check it out.

Hadn't watched it in a while, but I played BARAKA again on Tuesday (watched Game 7 of the Stanley Cup finals last night), and I have to say....it still blows me away!

Saw 'Unknown' on DVD the other night, with Liam Neeson in the lead role. The movie reminded me of Harrison's Ford 'Frantic', where he lost his wife at the beginning of the movie. Here, Liam's wife lost him and the mystery begins. Nice mystery/action/suspense/thriller.

Watched RED again. Retired, Extremely Dangerous. I enjoyed the acting and the action very much. These guys can make you laugh HARD.

Last week, I rewatched this movie. And last night I rewatched it again!
Why? Because it's a great true story, and it's the true reality of the world we live in, even now!

Think! Being a bank robber is bad for the organised crime, and the organised crime is working with the FBI, CIA, local Police, and you name it. Can you see what I'm comin' to? ...

-----

* Michael Mann did an excellent job in recreating these true events from John Dillinger's short life.
I also listened to his full commentary from that public audio soundtrack.
And I watched all the special features.
Brief, I explored all there is to it about John Dillinger's life, plus all there is around it; organised crime, flaw justice system, corrupted law enforcement, his true and only love Billie Frechette (French name), and you name it ...

FBI agent Melvin Purvis took his own life (or was it him?) one year after John Dillinger's death (assassination). And several files of him were removed (deleted all together) from the Federal Bureau of Investigation, ran by the famous outlaw John Edgar Hoover.

Brief, life as usual in America, and even now today, and probably for the next one million years!

Think! And think back, and think ahead, and think very well...

Rewatched this last night ...

----

* A 25-year old flick (1987) directed by Brian De Palma, and based on true events.
I like it! :b

Last night, rewatched:

------------------------ And:

---^ Luv that flick, plus the audio soundtrack. -------^ Beautiful cars & girls. :b
[I prefer the original Theatrical though @ +11 mins]

It is the IIIrd installment: 'The Fast and the Furious - Tokyo Drift'. ...An older flick from 2006.
{Every post of mine that have a picture cover from the Music & Movies section; you can click on them for the full enchilada.}

* F&F III: The cars, the city, the lights, the colors, the flavors, the cute girls (in particular the main attraction) are all pure delight to watch on an HDTV screen. :b

And some cars' races/chases are well executed by excellent stunt drivers.

- I'm the type of person who enjoy rewatching flicks on Blu-ray (hence close to 2,500 BD titles in my collection). And twice that on DVDs.

_______________

The IVth 'Fast and Furious' (I watched it again last week) is from 2009,
and was the last before the last.

Here:
------

EDIT: The last one Amir is 'Fast Five'. Like it says, it's the Vth installment from the Series (2011).

Did you see the movie with Liam Neeson that he did just before Unknown? It was called Taken. I have both movies, and think i might even prefer TAken over Unknown...both are a lot of fun to watch. In Taken, he is an ex CIA guy who quits to be closer to his daugher...only to find out she leaves for Europe during Spring Break and gets kidnapped...ooops. Dont mess with an ex-CIA father...and thus the movie begins. A serious thinking action hero...cool stuff.

Nice one...own all but the first one. ;)

Saw DVD "Machete" played on my mini mac.

Vicious politicians, vicious drug dealers, vicious vigilante border patrol gangs, vicious priest, vicious police, vicious babe-a-licious babes, vicious illegal immigrants. A kind of black comedy B movie spoof on the whole border thing in Texas. Oddball all star cast with Don Johnson as the vicious border patrol vigilante and Robert De Niro as the vicious politician.

Cool, check it out.
