I'm taking the plunge into streaming for all of the obvious reasons. I currently have Roon/Qobuz connected to the upsampler of my Vivaldi (I have the 4 box Vivaldi Stack) via Ethernet. The Roon core is on my office computer a great distance away. Sound quality is decent, but not as good as the spinning discs! There are many ways to skin this cat and I have friends who swear by Taiko. However, it has been mentioned to me that DCS is "optimized" for ethernet connectivity (via the DAC or upsampler) whereas others (such as Taiko) use USB. It has been suggested to me to purchase an upgraded switch, linear power supply, and a local Roon Core and that will suffice for DCS. What has been the experience of other DCS users in terms of getting the most from streaming?
Thanks,
Brian
