Despite having a 100-step volume control in my preamp, I still find there are cd's that are just too quiet at one level, and just too loud at the next one up.
Vinyl, no problem.
It's been pointed out to me that my Eera cdp has a particularly high output voltage of 3.3mV, compared to the standard of 2mV, and that attenuator RCAs may be the answer.
Online I can see the choice is mainly Rothwell and WBT.
Does anyone here have experience to relay?
Choice is in increments from 10dB to 23dB. If my cdp is 3.3mV output rather than the standard 2mV, what value of attenuator should I plump for?
