Considering an upgrade and would love to hear what others say about the two. I know the enclosure is a massive step up but I have no local access to Orion's to listen to.

Thanks in advance!

An equivalent comparison would be a Toyota Camry to a BMW 7 series. Both are nice vehicles and will get you from point A to point B, but the higher end car gives a totally different experience on the journey.

The Orion is an outstanding speaker. I have setup a pair or Avior ii's and listened to the Orion on several different occasions.

Where are you located?

Liquid HiFi is a Rockport dealer and is located in Indian Land, South Carolina. 30 minutes south of Charlotte.

I’ve listened to both extensively. I own Orion. The Orion plays much bigger. The Orions bass will make everyone look around for a subwoofer It couples to the room very differently . The noise floor is much lower due to the cabinet. You will hear this as better resolution as the leading/trailing edges are no longer obscured. Different tweeter different midrange different woofer different cabinet different speaker. Avoirs are now being discontinued so you should be able to get a great deal on them. At their price point (particularly used or demo) you will not get better. If you can afford Orions buy them and don’t look back. If not any sane music lover would love Avior II.

Liquid HiFi just south of Charlotte carries Rockport and had Orions in the store a few months ago.
