I drank some Kool-Aid and jumped off a cliff and bought some cable elevators. Here are the ones I bought:

I bought 16 of them and thought I would give them a whirl. If I think I wasted my money, I will report back. If I think they improved the sound, I will report back. Either way, be prepared to put on your bovine excreta detector and wade through what I have to say. I will call it as I see it-good or bad. I remember back during the Iron Age when Enid Lumley wrote for TAS and she was a 1000 years ahead of most modern day tweakers. Enid was suspending her speaker cables off the floor using string to hold them up long before cable elevators were a gleam in an audio huckster's eye. Enid was also into the AC wiring and polarity correctness long before anyone thought we should have $500 receptacles.

I guess I decided to take the plunge last night after seeing the video that Peter B. posted of the ultimate tweaker, the guy from Maple Shade. Hell, maybe all of those people who claim the sound improves are onto something (or on something). The worst they can do is help clean up your cable runs.

I have them...no comment on what they do or not do to the sound. The mental gymnastics required and the insanity that results is not worth it to me. I like the looks of my cables off the floor.

Look forward to reading about your findings.

Come on Christian-man up. Do you think they made a positive change or are you just happy your cables are up off the floor?

I don't have carpet where my cables go a-snaking so I don't need elevators at all. I do however like them off the floor. Performance gains.....Zero. Looks.... :)

I bought the same elevators about 6 months ago. Used them for a week. They're now in a box out in my garage.

I've used them for years to keep the cables off the floor. No sonic benefits whatsoever

I should get some so I don't have to bend down and lift the cables as I'm sweeping the floor. HMMMM:p

You'll still have to but at least you won't need to wipe off dust bunnies off your cables. :)

price per unit?

inexpensive. Made of porcelain with rubber on the bottom

These are merely medium voltage porcelain insulation available at most electrical contractor supplies stores. I have written about these either here or another website.

For really fat cables

i've had 16 of the same ceramic cable elevators for over 10 years. i make no claims about sonic benefits.

a couple months ago i did purchase the Shunyata Dark Field v2 cable elevators for my cables. not cheap. again; i make no claims for what i hear. not saying i don't have an opinion......but i'm just not going there on this forum.

this whole subject falls into the catagory of things you do when you've done everything else possible. when your system is already tweaked. just 'in case' it might matter.;)

I use the same. Best part about the Dark Fields is that they are so easy to put away and re-place.
