Burmester X Roon: Your Burmester 232 Just Got Smarter: Unlocking Effortless High-Res Streaming with Roon Ready & More!

Hey fellow audiophiles and music explorers,

We all chase that elusive perfect sound – the purity, the detail, the emotional connection to our music. But let's be honest, sometimes the sheer complexity of managing digital libraries, switching apps, and ensuring flawless high-res playback can feel like a barrier. What if your high-end system could simply... flow? What if your entire music world was effortlessly integrated, instantly accessible, and delivered in uncompromising studio quality?
At Burmester, we believe in removing those barriers and today, we're thrilled to share some truly exciting news that brings us even closer to that dream:

This isn't just a simple update; it's a profound enhancement to your listening life. "Roon Ready" signifies a particularly close integration between Roon and certified network devices. For your 232, this means it's automatically detected and integrated, providing an intuitive, stable, and audiophile-grade streaming experience without any extra configuration.

Imagine these moments:
  • You effortlessly manage your entire music collection - from Apple Music, Qobuz, and Tidal to your cherished local library - all from one central Roon app. No more app-juggling.
  • You hit play on your phone, then seamlessly continue that exact track on your Burmester 232 at home, right where you left off.
  • Every note reaches you bit-perfect, lossless and in full resolution - exactly as the artist intended. Forget detours via Bluetooth or AirPlay that compromise fidelity.
This Roon integration, available starting August 11, 2025, is part of our comprehensive Software Update 3.2.0. But we didn't stop there. This update brings a suite of additional features designed to further enhance your connectivity and user experience:
  • Smart Standby: Your 232 remains network-accessible in standby and can be woken directly by streaming apps like Roon, Qobuz, Spotify or TIDAL. True flexibility in control!
  • External Storage Media: Plug-in your USB sticks or SD cards, and the 232 recognizes and plays high-resolution files (MP3, WAV, FLAC, high-resolution DSD) directly. It even presents these media as a network folder for easy file transfers from your PC – perfect for large music libraries.
  • Universal Plug and Play (UPnP): Use your 232 as a UPnP client, allowing direct streaming from UPnP servers in your local network, including NAS systems or legacy Burmester devices.
  • New Sample Rates: Connect to a PC as an audio interface and select up to 32-bit for lossless, high-resolution playback without additional conversion.
  • Enhanced Bluetooth: Not just for audio! The new Bluetooth connection for the remote control provides greater range and stability, reliably preventing unintentional control of other devices. For spontaneous listening, Bluetooth Audio (SBC codec) transmits music up to 320 kbps.
This update underscores Burmester’s ongoing commitment to providing the best possible audio experience, enabling effortless music enjoyment in studio quality – combined with modern, intelligent streaming technology.

We're confident this will revolutionize how you interact with your music.

Musical regards from Berlin!

Note: Using Roon requires a Roon Core server and a valid Roon plan (e.g., on a PC, Mac, or NAS). Ensure your 232 has software version 2.6.0 installed before updating, and remains connected to power and network during the process.
