Jim’s house is next door.

Didn't we see a "from below the ground up" build of that many, many moons ago? Or am I mistaken?

It was the greatest 9 hours of audio listening I have ever in my life experienced. . Kudos VSA

And Jack and Jim are probably 2 of the greatest people you'd ever want to meet

And Jack's system with Ultra 11's is a very close 2nd in all my years of listening

Haven't met Jim but Jack is one of the nicest individuals I have met who happens to be an audiophile.

Damon and I have been having fun selecting colors for the VR.thirty and our clients have been too! Everything, from a stunning orange with crushed pearl-embedded paint used in Munich, to the all-white Star Wars model that went to the Philippines. New colors (many Aston Martin's latest finishes have been added to our standard finish page as well (see below)

A few years ago, Damon had a favorite celeste blue finish that he loved, but I was not fond of. Below is a project featuring that color for the Ultra Five. However, I must admit that the color is starting to grow on me, so this must mean I'm improving as I age at keeping an open mind:)

One thing I'm certain of is that our finisher, Fausto Reyes, produces work that is unmatched in terms of finish and lasting beauty. As some of our followers are aware, before joining us, Fausto was the lead finisher at the Fender guitar pro division. There, he painted for some of the most renowned artists in the industry, including Prince, who had a famous collection of 121 guitars now residing in a museum.

That blue gives the room a pop of color that it needs.

This fall will see the introduction of our Foundation. Ten subwoofers are explicitly designed for analog room correction duty and are available at a comparatively lower cost. Stay tuned.
Here's a pair of VR.thirties in Ferrari Grigio Scuro paint in our small sound room, getting ready to go to a new dealer, along with one of the two Foundation.twelve subwoofers. As many of you are aware, we frequently utilize the Foundation subwoofers to achieve the best in bass analog room mode correction. That said, the performance achieved as a straight subwoofer is inspiring. With our updated model featuring a slotted instead of a sealed enclosure, we achieved a significant increase in speed and pitch definition without sacrificing extension or output. Damon believes those qualities are the hallmark of a truly great subwoofer designed for music reproduction.

This fall will see the introduction of our Foundation.ten subs, which are explicitly designed for analog room correction duty at a comparatively lower cost than our larger models. Stay tuned.

Here is our latest installation of VR.thirty's with a twist. Using the 30s internal Foundation amplifier for bass control, the owner was able to install his CJ ARC 27. Unique in CJ's line, the KT88 tubes produce 36 watts/channel into 4 ohms, configured for Class A triode operation. With the 30s, 87.5 dB efficiency, the client reports that they are jamming in his room, even with some techno. Rounding out the system is a CJ pre-amplifier, Rockna Wavedream DAC, and Wavenet server.

At the shop, we intermittently run the 30s with Trafomatic monoblocks, delivering 40 watts into 4- or 8-ohms. Pandora's also feature a push-pull configuration, this time run in Class A with single-ended SV-811 power tubes. Tube lovers who want to pair their amps with von Schweikert speakers need not purchase monster solid-state amplifiers. Any tube amplifier with a power rating of 30 watts or more, or a solid-state amp with a power rating of 50 watts or more, should be pleased with the results.

The beautiful Arizona Bronze paint finish he selected also looks wonderful against his wood floors and furniture, as well as the brightly colored rug. Custom finishes are our specialty. If you can't find one on our site that's just right, we'll be glad to create it for you!

Just stumbled on this thread and wanted to express my deepest gratitude to @Damon Von Schweikert and @gleeds and their team for delivering a product beyond my wild expectations. They have treated me as part of a family, visited to dial in the speakers, and continue to support to ensure we achieve maximum performance from a speaker that so far has limitless headroom. What a pleasure to work with such a reputable company that prioritizes and tailors an individual users experience and sound reproduction in any room they are provided. Can’t wait to hear the masterbuilt ultra power cords on the foundations. IMG_3147.jpegIMG_3151.jpeg

Thank you, Tom. This means a lot to the team!

HAPPY NEW FOUNDATION AMP OWNER HERE!!!!

Damon Von Schweikert updated my Ultra-9 speakers with the Foundation amplifiers last month. Since that time, I've been MIA and holed up my theater as much as I can. As expected there was improvement in the lower frequencies with better control and more punch. What I was not prepared for was the improvement in the mid-range and higher frequencies. There is less grain with more (much more) detail present. The soundstage, which in my opinion was already good, has become wider and deeper. I am going through my playlists and I feel like everything I hear is a re-master (in a good way).

If you are a VSA owner or thinking of one of new VSA speakers, the Foundation amplifiers take an already great speaker to another level.

Well done VSA!

...I agree. You can turn off the amps to hear things as a passive speaker, which I did, back-and-forth when I demo-ed. I felt the Foundation Amp add-on was well worth the additional cost...actually exceeded the cost, in terms of sound quality. I was skeptical, but the speakers made their case.
