Hello. I have a 5.1 Sony receiver that I'm using for music on my patio. I would like to add a subwoofer and rear speakers to it to make it a real 5.1 system. Is there a way to connect the receiver's rear channels to a B/T transmitter that could deliver the output to a set of powered B/T speakers at the edge of the patio. I can't seem to find any products that could serve this purpose.

@mjdougherty It's definitely not a standard procedure, but I guess if that was simple you would not have asked such a question in the first place. Can you tell me a bit more about your setup? Which 5.1 Sony receiver are you using? Which speakers are you thinking of? How far is it from the receiver to the edge of the patio? Just to visualise your idea better, the goal is to install a permanent audio setup outdoors?

I’ve used REL and SVS wireless transmitters for subs in non-critical setups. Full range performance isn’t great, but for surrounds may be acceptable. A link to a review of one:

I too was looking for such a device, but couldn't find one and gave up. I wanted to use high end Blue Tooth ear buds , with my system's preamp as the source for late night listening.
