Best Sounding FM Tuner?

I no longer have a tuner in my main rig but when I did a Fisher KM-60 was by far the most sensitive and best sounding one I've used personally.

Why not simply connecting the secondary of another power transformer in series (or anti series to reduce the voltage) with the exact voltage you want to change? The change in mains impedance is negligible if we pick the proper transformer.

I learned this trick from the ExactPower SP15 - that surely was a much more sophisticated device.
I guess you could. But now you placing a transformer inside the equipment. Where will it sit. How do you control vibration and the EMF field. And what is the quality of the transformer. You can definitely hear a transformer. I have tried Triplite, Topaz and Torus. The first to don't fix much. And they don't improve the sound. They actually detract from it. The Torus is the only one that works. Others I know use Equitech and those are pretty good too.

No, I always put it in an external box with proper plugs. I did not pretend to ameliorate the quality of the mains, just changing the voltage avoiding downgrading it or needing expensive/large devices. As the power of the transformer is low it can easily be noiseless.

If we hear a transformer it is either due to poor mains quality (too high voltage, DC and/or THD issues) or poor quality of the transformer - unfortunately I had experience with both.

So your making a DIY isolation transformer? Your just not calling it a isolation transformer. Technically it is. All transformers isolate the phase. The ground is always bonded.

No, not isolating. Please read my previous message. Just adding or subtracting a few volts ...

Are you putting the transformer in line with the IEC?

Are you soldering it in series before or after the equipmemt power transformer.

If your soldering it in, your doing a lot of work. Easier to plug it into something.

Who listens to FM radio these days?

Are some FM stations still broadcasting somehow in pure analog, or is everything digital (the radio station plays CDs or computer files to broadcast music).

What is the best sounding FM tuner today?

Is Magnum Dynalab still one of the top FM tuner manufacturers?

Is there any point in having an analog tuner if the radio stations are broadcasting solely in digital?

Do you still have an FM tuner? If so, how often do you use it?
Two of the best I've heard are the Mitsubishi DA-F20 and the Technics ST-8077. The sound quality is superb. Of the 1000's tuners ever designed FMTUNERINFO says they are two of the best. Equal or better than Kenwood KT-8300, Pioneer TX-9800, Sumo Charlie, Accuphase T-109 and the Dynalab FT101a.

TAG McLaren Audio was formed in 1997 when the company acquired Cambridge Systems Technology, the designer and manufacturer of the superb Audiolab 8000T tuner. The February 1999 issue of Stereoplay magazine said: "the TAG McLaren Audio tuner has . . . written itself into the list of all-time greats like Sequerra, Wieschoff [sic], [Klein + Hummel] FM 2002 and Wega Lab Zero," but that's about all we know about it...
I have the T32R...

Please regard in case of buying FM tuners from other continents, that not just the mains voltage and frequency, as already mentioned (and commonly known as important for any other electrical device), but the deemphasis of the tuner has to be correct for your country!
