If you can find these:
Vitus SL 102/103
Constellation Virgo II/III with DC filter

In terms of value-for-money, you can't beat passive pre like Bespoke if they work in your system. These can be had with remote.

You never know your luck! And budgets always stretch ;-)
But still, this happening for roughly 15k is rather (very) unlikely

Westminsterlab Quest, just testing in my system

I’m really enjoying the Burmester 088. A used one would be in your price range. It has a fairly logical line of sight remote, but it can also be run from the face plate controls. Mine is paired with a Burmester 911 mk3. It sounds like a synergistic match up here.

Esoteric C-02X. Replaced by and very similar to my Grandioso C1X solo, which I dearly love.
Another vote for this excellent preamp (C-02X).

Pass labs XS Pre. A big step beyond their XP32 that I lived with for a year.

You will get an used Soulution 720 at that price. Amazing preamp.

Try the new TLC -2 from Smc Audio. I bought one and am doing a formal review. It can be had with a remote. Well under $15k.IMG_5174.jpeg

I am generally a tube guy but have been very happy using a Grandinote Genesi. It is only balanced (true balanced) so that is a consideration.

I know this is an old thread, but do you still love your Esoteric C1X solo? Is there any material difference between the C1X and the C1X solo (other than being in a singular box).

I'm currently vacillating heavily between a Nagra HD preamp and C1X solo -- the Esoteric being a fraction of the price.
