as I have gotten older I’ve noticed I love live albums
before this it was me being an audio snob in quality.
after all it has to be an amazing quality to play
soo not true as I went along
allman bros was among the first place I heard a live band. At MSG at the release of eat a peach I think
own soo many of there albums but now they just seem more alive on some albums
Among there best to me is below
the players just seem to be playing way better then what I can recall
and who ever made the decision to bring on some new people is awesome to me
Winston Marsalis for one
I love jazz and never figured him in rock
wow was it wrong
over all it’s an album that puts me back in the 70,s
please post your fav live albums
I don’t care what genre it’s just about you can’t stop listening
Thanks in advance

Alchemy: Dire Straits Live
Rush in Rio
Warren Zevon - Stand in The Fire
Northlane: Live at The Roundhouse
Bring Me The Horizon: Live at the Royal Albert Hall

I have a soft spot for Warren Zevon's album. Of the five above, he's the only one I never got to see live.

These days I go to more concerts and festivals than I do listen to live albums. Very few bands get me as pumped at a live concert as Bring Me The Horizon. Here's a clip I took of them at Louder Than Life in 2022, epic 4 day festival.

There are so many amazing live-recordings (on Vinyl and also digital)…

I will start with the magnificent Lizz Wright in digital format:

Totally agree with the Warren Zevon "Stand In The Fire"!
Allman Brothers "Live At Fillmore East"
The Who "Live At Leeds"
Talking Heads "Stop Making Sense"
Little Feat "Waiting For Columbus"
Peter Frampton "Comes Alive"
Cheap Trick "At Budokan"
Cat Power "Sings Dylan"
Tribalistas "Ao Vivo"
Johnny Cash "At Folsom Prison"
Eric Clapton "Just One Night"
J. Geils "Full House"

There is only one truly great live rock/blues album and that is The Allman Brothers Live at the Filmore East. Never gets old. There are many very good live albums of all types of music, but Live at the Filmore East is the one great one.

Some heavy metal here. Northlane was pretty intense.
