BAT VK-85 Preamp

I recently purchased a BAT VK-85 preamp which is their latest solid state preamp. I know their claim to fame has mostly been from tube designs but this unit hits it out of the park for me. I am very impressed at the improvement over the Constellation Inspiration preamp it replaced. In my system it was an improvement in all areas. One great thing about BAT is if you email them more than likely you will get a response from Victor Khomenko the founder and chief designer. Very helpful and responsive company. I owned the REX 2 Preamp with a pair of the REX 2 mono blocks for a few years and enjoyed them tremendously. Absolutely flawless in operation and loved the velvety sweet sound. Definitely on the warmer side of things but had no problem driving my Wilson Alexx’s. Only sold mine when I upgraded to a complete VAC Statement system which is next level performance and price as well.
