Audio Room Question

Hello everyone

My listening room had new laminate flooring installed due to water damage. I need to get a new area rug to tame the reflection. My old one was small it fit in front of the rack and rear wall. I was thinking of getting one that is a little longer that would go under the rack. Do you think there is any advantage to having the rack in the rug vs the laminate floor?

Thanks
Dave

You could always slit or have made a rug that accomplished both with rack in situ on laminate floor.

We could not rightly answer whether it would allow your rack to work or have any direct impact on reflection/absorption of sound within the framework of your question.

Rugs do very little overall, and nothing below the treble frequencies. Put good isolation feet under your rack. I don’t see any advantage to having a rug there.
