hello
got my beautiful CNC´d Vikingzilla bronze armboards today
thought I´d test other material than the slate ones that followed the plinth
interchangable inserts for various colomn sizes ...theese are for B60 which will hold Stefanos The Peak and the other is prepared for Groovemasters with the new VTA lift
can have other made for different holes or even spindle pivot distance..theese are both for 304,75mm, but holes can even be off center to fit other distance......holes are along board centerline, so they can be used on either side of plinth

They look nice. Bronze is good! They look good and thick too which is a bonus.

Lovely, I must admit I'm a bit jealous. Did Peak do these for you to fit their plinth?

I have tried ebony wood, aluminium, titanium and tungsten for my arm board. Each material has its own sonic signature.

Ebony wood is of course woody, softer and mellow. Aluminium has bright and fast, titanium is lively and dynamic. The best for my system is tungsten. The focus and bass punch are the best with tungsten but tungsten is the most expensive and most difficult to mill.

after some googling I found that Tungsten/Wolfram has about double density per cm3 compared to gunmetal.....19,3 vs 8,8..probably important factor

Tungsten W is the third in terms of density, just a fraction off the top. The problem with W is the finished surface, it can't be polished to give a shiny finish, so it doesn't look nice but sound very nice.

I had a Certina DS Diamaster with RADO wolframcarbide body that I passed on to my son..
It was very heavy, shiny and impossible to scratch

Tungsten carbide is the hardest metal and it is different from pure tungsten. By the way, tungsten carbide has a strong sonic character, it’s bass is the strongest of all. Because of its hardiness, it is very different to machine. Most items are press formed with a mould in very high temperature.

I managed to make some donut shape rings to use in my record clamp, the result is amazing. You can buy small tungsten carbide plates, say 100x100x10mm, put them under your speaker feet, you will be impressed and they are not expensive.

Good work on on arm boards. A friend in our group also found a company to make to order in China by file then drop ship.

I made my own file and had an acquaintance that designs machines for industry punch mine out. He has a full size CNC at his home for fun. They were done quickly. I will "finish" the finishing process this week and they will be anodized before Christmas. Maybe different materials will be next I will try copper , bronze etc.. for giggles.

a friend has wood cnc, so that´s where I get made all horn parts, wood chassis etc
and I´ve gotten made cnc´d alu horn adapters locally, but with the China prices, it´s a no-brainer

My BB arm board project is completed. Back from anodizing- turned out very well.

the dynavector DV 505 with Lyra atlas SL was quite better than the Da Vinci virtu and Da Vinci cartridge through a Kondo SFz - GE1 - M1000 mk2 - Gakuon - Sigma MAAT speakers. For the owner as well.
