Probably true, but the there should be little variation in users who have the same software installed..so all Pure Music customers using a Mac
should not have a huge variance in performance..what DAC they are using would have a bigger impact.
I suspect never. Apple has had a long history of sticking to formats it chooses and nothing else. On Windows for example, WMA libraries are standard. Yet iTunes would re-encode WMA files into AAC instead of playing them as is (double lossy compression is not a good idea).Now, back on topic. When is iTunes going to support FLAC?
It seems that iTunes 11 has removed the "display duplicates" feature, unless it is buried somewhere. I would not have upgraded until they fixed that.
