You completely overlooked the fact that the THX standard is 80 Hz the speakers are crossed over at 60 Hz so therefore everything you said does not make any sense because your ear is not as sensitive to low frequency signals that are below 80 Hz. They are less directional. You have not heard the speakers and obviously have a bone to pick because you own these grossly overpriced Alysaxox speakers.
There are many satisfied customers who have posted on what’s the best form extolling the virtues of the speaker- after having heard countless numerous other speakers.

Nope, I don't own the Alsyvox loudspeakers, and yes I think they are overpriced.

Now walk up to the speakers whilst they are playing and tell me what I said about near field sound isn't true. You cannot do that without lying, Therefore, integration isn't seemless.

I could carry on but from your reply I realise it is pointless. Dr K did a good job I think.

Thanks for sharing.
I won't miss that opportunity.
I have heard and loved the Botticelli several times and now wonder what the all-in Caravaggio can do

Yeah I just got that e-mail and was going to post it.

I recently found out Bristol airport has stopped doing direct flights to Munich so I wasn't going to go this year, as it makes it a total pain. You basically have to fly via Amsterdam.

Might re-plan now and spend a few days in the Dam before moving onto Munich.

If you are planning on buying a 4 piece System like the Alsyvox then at least keep an open mind rather ear and audition the 4 piece GT Audioworks System.

Planarman, Justin really doesn't rate cones w ribbons. Hearing his Apogee Duettas plumb the depths, I get him.

This is a specially designed system that that will make you truly believe it is real as in a concert.
I have personally heard a set of True Sound Works Apogee Duetta Signatures with 700 watt Amps and they will not produce the dynamics of the GT System. The computer used to individually control the X max or excursion of the woofers is world class. During our demo of the system at Axpona 2019 we demonstrated how seamlessly the open baffle servo subs integrated with the system By actually shutting off the servo subs during the songs we were playing.
Again don’t take my word for it just listen to the same songs with any dynamicS on the apogees and then compare them to the GT system.
Dynamics aside the system also does not use a crossover on the main panel therefore we believe the transparency is also a lot better.

Spent some.time.talking to 'the man' today.

Some thoughts and pics at link below. Given time I will say more and.post more pics.

Suffice to say as an Apogee owner, these are worthy. I don't say it lightly. They really are very good indeed.

Very much interested in reading your impression. Appreciate if you could share the potential of these speakers. This is the most interesting room for me.

Kind regards,
Tang

I have enough experience to know without any shadow of a doubt that the GT Audio system will NOT sound as integrated as the Alsyvox does.

The bass will definitely NOT have the speed and articulation of the Alsyvox. Cones just CANNOT do it. Not on this planet. Anywhere.

Marc - these are considerably better than my Duettas.

For anyone going to Munich I urge you to go and hear them.

Talk to Daniele Coen he's friendly. Free parmesan and Prosecco!

It stays open til 8pm so catch the coach outside Halle 3 or 4 after the MoC show or walk. Free entry.

I did talk to Daniele a lot. Mainly about construction and planar magnetic issues since I know a lot about mine and how they are.made and work.

Ked he knows Henk. He's been there loads of times.

I think Daniele said $160K. In performance terms relative to other speakers costing loads at Munich, it's very good value.

Construction quality is excellent. They are basically huge slabs of solid steel internally.

This shot shows you the steel sandwich.

I will say more but I am on holiday and have posted loads anyway. Check the thread on AoS for more updates.

That's Daniele with the white shirt BTW.

The build quality looks very nice!

To which panel section does the signal cross-over at 150Hz? (If someone wanted to use a separate woofer system from 150Hz down how would you connect the Caravaggio? Or would you use the Botticelli and not the Caravaggio?)

I wouldn't use them with a separate subwoofer, Ron. You'll never get it to work well.

Better with the GT setup I suspect if you must have dynamic drivers. Or Pendragons!
