Of course, you can compare Quad and Alsyvox. You probably meant that you can't classify the sound as the same or very similar. But I didn't do that either. Of course, the bass, resolution, and many other aspects of the Alsyvox are significantly better. But you definitely don't feel any moving air with either of them.
For me personally, the issue of body is much more important. And none of the panels I mentioned can do that, not even Alsyvox.
My reference is a custom-made speaker system with 18“ bass (active), passive 9” midrange (Fielcoil), and a large ribbon tweeter. Here you can walk around Satchmo on stage. Body, body, body. And yet still plenty of resolution.
I don't want to criticize Alsyvox either. They sound impressive. But from my personal point of view, they can't do everything either – and they don't have to, by the way.
