AES/EBU cable shootout

Hi Jfrech, I also have a Ref XL digital cable. Could you share what improvements you get with the Siltech?

First everything is more quiet. Some might say blacker background but it's more than just that. Second, better resolution everywhere up and down the musical spectrum along with more energy on each note. The ability to hear things, not noticed before, is well known recordings is a bit crazy. Finally, more textures and deeper extended bass. Feel the notes through the my wood floor (and the air) in a different better way....

Thanks Jfrech, I wonder does Siltech sound brighter than Transparent? Since once is silver the other is copper. The Siltech is likely 2x the Transparent’s price, it is quite prohibitively expensive. You must really like it.

HI, no I don't think it sounds brighter at all. In fact maybe a slight bit more warmth. This is opposite my experience with other silver cables and I think a unique data point on Sil-Tech. The siltech is ~3x....so have to factor that in...

Of all the cables I have used, the Nordost Odin had the most resolution but it may make some systems sound really bright so not for everyone. I used the Siltech briefly as I live 15 minutes from siltech dealer, so easy to borrow. For pure performance, Siltech is the best balanced and compliments most systems. But it is very expensive and I have not tried lower priced Siltechs.

Any experience with Single Crown AES? Do you know how it differs from Double Crown?

I have two days on the Omega X AES cable and I am very impressed. In my system the X gives me the air and space around performers I was looking for. Versus the Omega 1, the X it improves on many levels and engages me even further in the music. I am happy even if none of the other cables sound better. It is a very good cable!
I spoke to the owner of "rock-on" to see if he was comfortable with me doing a shootout with the Muon 2 Network Acoustics and the Omega X and he was, so I ordered one. Does Sablon still do a demo list? How does one get to try a Siltech?

Hi no, but my dealer has a Classic Legend 880d, so right below the single crown, it was still better than my transparent, I just sprang for the double crown. FYI I also have 2 double crown ethernet, they are equally as beguiling.
