A Diamond In The Rough-Snake River Audio

Hello and good evening to you, gentlemen. I just went back to the rig and tested the bend radius of the Takshaka PC. Surprisingly, even though they are about an inch or so thick, the bend radius to go a complete 180 degrees is only about 4". I'd say that is extremely flexible.

Here is a shot I just took with one of my Takshaka PC's going into the Lumin UX1. This is a completely natural curvature of the cable. For reference, the length of the barrel is sitting out just shy of 2 and a half inches from the power supply. The custom Sorbothane riser is there just for support. It's not needed, as there is a secure fitment, it's just at this height and with the weight of the cable itself, I installed it for my own reassurances. The actual cable you see here, drops down a good 3 feet until it hits the riser at the floor and as mentioned, with the sheer weight of the cable and with the length of that drop? I just wanted some reassurances that all would be well for years to come.

So, you are looking at about 4.5" of support from the PS, with a naturally occurring bend after 2 or three months of use, that heads straight down about 3 feet. For a triple shielded cable? Nice.

Tom

4" for 180 degrees ??? Wow, looks more like 90 degrees to me ?

Hello, @twitch. Please accept my apologies for any confusion. The photo shows basically a 90 degree turn, naturally caused by the drop in height. Separately, you can bend the PC 180 degrees within a 4 inch span (no photo taken). Basically, it is extremely flexible.

Tom, no need to apologize, all good ! ;)

Hello and good morning to you, @BruceD. Just as an FYI, Jonny is a proud Veteran and retired detective from the Sheriff's office. So, his kid's are long past schooling at this point. Agreed on Steve's write up. Steve is a great gentleman with a superb audio system.

Here's the thing with that. There are a number of other companies that already have cables named Taipan. As you may know, all of Jonny's products are going along the lines of a snake or snake theme. In the case of the Takshaka, they were named after a God. In Hindu beliefs, Takshaka is a snake God.

@markramler - Congratulations on your latest purchase! As good as the Signatures are? The Takshaka's are on a completely different playing field and you should be excited! I am excited for you. Just as an observation I'd like to relay to you, if you don't mind. The Takshaka's do sound great right out of the box, but IME, they do change around the 3 to 4 day mark (much more about almost every aspect comes into fruition). After that, they just keep getting better with very mild to negligible swings after that. I would advise putting it somewhere where you can keep it powered up and running, until you hit that 3 to 4 day mark. I was pleasantly surprised how much more of a change it made in my system (going from the Signature to the Takshaka) when I switched my first PC from my DAC to my Lumin UX1 source, so you may want to try it there first.

I agree. The Signature Amp cables add life and energy to the music. The Takshaka’s power cable adds more flesh and depth to the sound. There are more layers and presence to voices. The midrange just draws you in.

Only 4 days in to the PC, eh? Nice. Enjoy. It only gets better from here....

I thought the midrange with this PC was the icing on the cake

Hello and good evening to you, @Ike1985. I just so happened to have spoken with Jonny about this, since you have not gotten a reply. He stated that yes, they will fit in the Everest.

On a different note - FYI - some of you may have noticed that the C-19 (20 amp) connectors were not available on his website. They are now available for the Takshaka's. If you are unfamiliar with a C-19 connector, here is a photo of what I am referring too. (below)

Yesterday I just ordered a Signature Amp series for my Coda amp. If I like it I will order another Signature for my DAC. I wish I could afford the Takshaka. Although I don't think I will be suffering much. ;)

How does this power cable compare to Shunyata Omega? I also want to use it on LUMIN X1. Thanks for your guidance!

@libodao1977 - Hello and good afternoon to you. Unfortunately, I have not heard the Shunyata Omega PC on the streamer. I have tried other Shunyata products and the only one that stayed in the streaming rig was the Shunyata Omega Ethernet cable hooked up to a Muon Pro into the Lumin X1. After hearing many different PC's in the Lumin, then the Signature that Jonny offers, then upgrading to the Takshaka, I was surprised at the sheer amount of positive responses from the Lumin. It definitely responds well to PC upgrades.

I have heard through the grapevine that some folks have sold off their AQ Dragons for the Takshaka. The Takshaka PC is one that I haven't ever seen up for sale on the used market, despite being offered to the public since October of last year. So, that should tell you that folks like what they hear.

I have purchased some Snake River in the past and Johnny is amazing. Customer service beyond belief and the cables are a real, true value. They punch way above their weight and the exchange leaves you feeling good, supporting someone who cares and is passionate about what they do. High recommendations!

I agree as well. Today I installed two new Takshaka power cables (one for the Boulder 2110 preamp and one for the Boulder 1108 phono preamp) which I received this week. I also immediately noticed more flesh to the music, a deeper soundstage and more presence to the vocals. These Takshaka PC's replaced good Synergistic and Shunyata PC's and upon installation I immediately noticed improvement (Jonny does a great job of burning these PC's in before he sends them out to you, so that they are ready to install, although I do understand that there is still some improvement to come). While not cheap, a good value here, especially if you buy two or more and take advantage of the discount he offers.

I also purchased the Takshaka interconnects and speaker cables and found similar results.

I now have 4 of the Signature PC's in my rig. Jonny know his craft. Smooth, dynamic and a well developed soundstage.
(Aurender N200, Terminator 15th DAC, Wavelet II and Coda Amp.)
