I need an 8 channel DAC or processor for two channel stereo and multisub management, and eventually for biamping. But are there any 12 to 16 channel processors which, like the 8 channel Merging NADAC, allow you to sum the 16 channels into 8 channels for greater dynamic range and improved noise floor?

not cheap; but the Trinnov Altitude 16 can bi-amp 8 channels or tri-amp 5 channels @96/24.. or.....you can get a Trinnov Altitude 24 or 32 or even 64 and set it up however you like. no limits.

and it sounds really good.

yes it's intended to be a Home Theater processor, but basically it's a dsp computer that can be used however you like. great support and an array of capabilities. and they really make it future proof in that everything is upgradable. the culture around this brand is awesome.

i use a Trinnov Altitude 16 in my Home Theater running Dolby Atmos 9.3.6 surround.
