I too am an unashamed Streisand fan. IIRC she did an album with a pop section and jazz version. I posted it here. I'll try to find it. Technically you might call some of her music show tunes. Is it any less jazz than Gershwin's "Porgy and Bess"?
i found it.

Braff made several fine recordings for Concord but this one stands out to me for his inspired playing along with Howard Alden's especially sweet guitar work. Ed Trabanco's engineering is full of life - Alden's guitar tone is gorgeous, Frank Tate's double bass pitches and dynamics are clearly defined. Even on cd!
