What turntables do you use? Pictures would be nice as well :-)

Is this the L-75? Nice plinth. Is this solid wood? I appreciate the removable tonearm plate. Did you do it?
Basically it's a Lenco L75 but with the PTP6 update von Peter Reinders and an external power supply made by Dr. Fuss/Germany.
Unfortunately my knowledge in wood work ends by drilling holes in wooden planks.:(
Therefore the plinth it's a Lenco PTP6 XLT MPX made by Ebel Holztechnik / Germany and made of birch multiplex. With the plinth came 4 different tonearm plates, suitable for SME, Rega, Schick and one still to be drilled for a tonearm according to your specs. Dimensions are 600 x 450 x 110 mm. Weight approx. 16kg.

Impressive. Did you have to do any maintenance on Lenco's drive?

I have just received it, put it on the shelf and connected the cables. I will be adjusting and trying it tomorrow. I just had a quick check with some apps to see if the speed is off and both 33 and 45rpm were spot on. I will check with analog magik to see in detail.
Any update on the Sony?

Any update on the Sony?
I have been listening for the last two days. It took about 5 minutes to setup and I have not touched anything since. Still, the sound it yields is very very good and the overall sound although different is very close in quality to my stabi m/fugaa setup. I think this is a remarkable feat on its own.

Today, I have received analog magik v2 so hopefully I will tune it finer. It has a Sony xl55 pro cartridge and I am using a trusted long time companion transrotor phono 8-mc sym preamp to load it 500ohms. It would be hard to put my finger on just the TT’s quality as I do not know the cartridge either. I ordered an msl headshell to try my madake cartridge. Then I can put my finger on it as I used that cartridge with that preamp on my Kuzma.

my First impression is very positive, the music flows together and with ease. It lies between tape and sacd sound. The sound is not at all bright like some comments I have read online. Surface noise is also much less pronounced.

Kuzma/fugaa has more macro dynamics and sharper transients and a denser tone but a also little more noisy. Denser tone may even be because it is a little slow and has more speed variation but this is just a guess based upon some studio tricks we used to do in music production back when I was at it. Just a reminder, Sony is not yet finely setup, I don’t know how many hours are on the cartridge and also has a lower quality pre than my other setup so who knows what will time bring :)

it is definitely a keeper and I can keep it in my personal listening room or put it into the demo room for my speaker brand that I am building.

No wonder it was over in 5 minutes. it's a japanese broadcast turntable something had to be changed quickly without changing the sound.
Beware the XL55 Pro has a beryllium cantelever that cannot be repaired. Have fun with great machine.

Thank you.

For sure you should keep an eye on maintenance as always if you deal with mechanics.

Oiling from time to time the upgraded PTP bearing to keep the plate running smoothly will be necessary.

Also checking the motor bearings is on the "to do list", together with an optical check of the idler wheel.

My friend had a L75, and he also had to replace the v-blocks, the lower part of the arm's knife bearing. You might also want to check that. It sounds like yours is in very good shape overall.

The very first ever produced Bergmann Modi, upgraded with Galder feet and Odin arm in main position. On the side is a Reed 3P and in front, on a separate arm tower, a Fidelity Research FR64S/B60. A VdH The Frog Gold is mounted on the Odin, a VdH Gran Cru on the Reed and on the FR64s is a vintage Koetsu Black (newly rebuild by Ana Mighty Sound) getting some initial hours.

Which arm/cartridge combination do you generally like the most?

Will need to come back to you with an answer. None of the cartridges has played more than 40 hours so still breaking in all three.

The Monaco 2 @stsxerses heard earlier in the week, with Kuzma arm and Opus through CH and Divin Marquis

The Dalby made a much more positive difference compared to the Monaco clamp.

Wow. Great photo 'bonzo75' with one of the top turntables, with one of the top arms and top cartridges connected to some of the top hifi electronics.

Interesting that you found this custom clamp to be better than the pressure force green light indicating clamp that comes with the Monaco V2.0.

It's not a custom clamp. Btw, after that visit, the owner bought another Dalby from the market immediately, similar to the one I used at his place

Mine actually belongs to another local friend. I had sold it to him on the criteria he would allow me to use it on some visits and sell it back to me should I ever buy a table. Both of them are in London so I could borrow it for this visit.
