To ARC enthusiast's,

The founder and former owner of ARC has past away yesterday at the age of 85. Will surely miss the guy but he will be forever in our hearts .

Sad news indeed.

Rest in Peace Bill.

Just saw that on a friend's FB page. Such a loss for the industry :( Bill was a true gentleman in all senses of the word as they say and had a passion for designing high end audio gear that was contagious. Bill, you will be missed!

Truly an icon in our industry. He enriched many of our lives and will be missed

Extremely sad news... the high end will never be the same

Sad news indeed. Thanks for sharing your work with us. may you rest in peace.

My first "serious" hifi was an Audio Research D70 and I have since them spent many enjoyable hours listening to music with Audio Research gear. May he rest in peace.

I think without him tube equipment may have died.

That reminds me. Me first tube amp was the D115MKII and of all things, it's bass sock, punch and tightness blew my past 2 SS amps away. Later on I went in and out of ARC but now still got ARCs on my power and phono stages.

The system that got me on this downward spiral back in 1977 consisted of ARC electronics, Linn tt and Quad speakers. Quite a combo back then!

Hi Myles,

If I may ask, which Audio Research amp and which Quad speaker?

That's pretty fuzzy )|:) I think it was a D76 (?)/57 (?). Don't think the 63 was out in 1977.
