Lampizator announcement: launch of our all new TOTL HORIZON DAC

For those interested, after Florida I will make a tour of Europe presenting a few demo Horizons in Poland, Germany, Netherlands, Liechtenstein, Switzerland, and possibly also Belgium, Italy and Norway.

Hopefully while you are on tour your team will be busy building Horizons! ;)

Some more thoughts on tube rolling: The output of the Horizon DAC is made in a very special way. The 6SN7 is there to convert the DAC current output, as miniscule as the MM cartridge, and the EL34 are there to help. They make the anode load and driving to the 6SN7, and also they are cathode buffers so the output has adequate drive and low impedance. So both tubes have a vital role. the sound is a result of sublime interplay between the two hence the results are not of any one tube but the sum of the two. The results are unpredictable and escape the common knowledge of tube characters known to rollers. SYNERGY is the word. Yesterday I tried Russian 6H8C Metalbase MELZ with KT170 from TungSol and I almost fainted. Equally the adaptor fitted ECC182 with KR KT150 sent me to the ceiling.

No UK? Our Prime Minister Boris does great parties.

So in short we tube rollers have an entirely new rolling perspective very cool. most of us have boxes and boxes of tubes to try can’t wait. i wonder how many bottles of wine will be needed for our Lampi groupies in europe.

Congratulations, Steve, on acquiring the Horizon and on hosting this fun and exciting debut!

And congratulations to Lukasz and Fred!
Ron

im hoping you and all the analogue members locally attend. i can tell you that my Pacific brought digital to my ears better than anything heretofore. With the comments I’m reading as well as conversations with Fred and Lukasz this DAC is promising to take digital beyond even that of the Pacific and in no small way. Lukas is using it seems proprietary technology. I love my Pacific so buying a Horizon was one of my two no brainers.

I will be there!

Wow, nice move! Especially as the world look like it does at the moment I love the idea of a new product touring around the world together with its creator, like a real artist! "Club gigs" instead of "stadium gigs" (audio shows) is always more intimate where both artists and audience get a better connection and experience.

(only fault in the European tour schedule is of course that Sweden is missing)

I guess when there is Norway there can be Sweden as well :D

How do the Russian 6H8C Metalbase MELZ compare to TungSol VT99 ? Have you happen to try CV181 ?

I assume you are referring to OS CV181s / ECC32s and not current issues (which are really just 6SN7s).

Wow, "I live in Arizona and was planning on flying to Tampa for the show. LA is a short 5 1/2 hour drive. The choices are great.

One question....will you be able to compare the Horizon to the Pacific? Or for that matter any other DAC? Or, will this strictly be the Horizon?
I should still have the Pacific
