I'm going to call an Audience dealer see if i can borrow a set of Front Row.
No sibilance at all that I can here. You don't have any sibilance at all in the trebel region ? because this is the problem i have with my speakers when using silver speaker cables.
My COAX drivers are just as clear as Magnepan speakers it's crazy.
They should be able to lend you a pair.I am in Australia and I got a pair to try out before I bought them.I'm going to call an Audience dealer see if i can borrow a set of Front Row.
Please let me know how you go with them When you try them out.I'm going to call an Audience dealer see if i can borrow a set of Front Row.
Definitely, I will try to make a shootout with Tellurium Q Statement as the dealer is ready to send me a set on loan. Please let me know how you go with them When you try them out.
Do you think the TQ Statement are worth the asking price compared to the competition in the same price range ?I've demo'd TQ Statement speaker cables twice and I liked them a lot. They might fit the bill. They have a great deal of clarity but it's balanced by what I heard as a rich low end.
Alternatively, for copper cables, while underperforming the above, AQ Thunderbird might work if you're trying to tune the sound. It's far, far less expensive, as well.
Depending how it works in one's system, one might find that sibilance is a product of distortion or accentuating of upper frequencies somewhere. My own system ironically solved the issue with the additional clarity of solid silver cables, in my opinion.
You hit on what held me back from purchasing them - price.Do you think the TQ Statement are worth the asking price compared to the competition in the same price range ?
Problem with my speakers is that they are pretty allergic to silver cables, the aluminum tweeter is very sensible to that.
I really need to get good copper only cables.
One other thing i'll do is upgrade the binding posts which i suspect they are brass for good Mundorf copper ones.
I've had Siltech speakers cables in the past, not a goot match for Thiel speakers too much glare in the treble. You hit on what held me back from purchasing them - price.
Not that I can’t afford them. I own a couple of pairs of far more expensive speaker cables.
But they seemed overpriced for their construction and I felt at the price there were probably other good options to seek out.
But don’t get me wrong, they sound outstanding and if I had purchased them maybe I wouldn’t have investigated AQ Dragon and Thunderbird.
Ultimately I found a used pair of Siltech speaker cables and my demoing ended.
if the price of the Statement speaker cables had been more in line with my perception I would have bought them.
I can't speak to the Firebird series. I own Dragon and Thunderbird speaker cables, Earth and WEL IC's, and Dragon PC's.I've had Siltech speakers cables in the past, not a goot match for Thiel speakers too much glare in the treble.
I have many Audioquest Firebird PCs in my system but i don't know how good are the speaker cables and interconnects.
Interesting reviews of the Fono Acustica cables which reviewer Marshall Nack compares with Audience Front Row which he previously reviewed and has in his system at the time of the Fono Acustica reviews:Hi guys,
I'm looking to try new speaker cables and interconnects in my system because i find my Gryphon cabling too clear for my speakers and the treble tends to be fatigueing in the long run.
I need to try 100% copper cabling only and the ones that come to mind are Tellurium Q Statement and Audience Front Row.
I only need a set of speaker cables and one set of balanced interconnect.
Please let me know if you have suggestions so i can get a smoother sound thanks.
Never heard of Hijiri cables, might be a little difficult to find for audition. This is what I wrote about cables in another post regarding cables:
Latest Gryphon cables are excellent. Open, fast, dynamic. If you want more relaxed cable but still resolutive enough try Hijiri top cables. The best cable I have tried in the last few years is Boenicke top cable which combines magnificent musicality with openness and great staging.
Additionally, I have tried TQ Statements for extended period and found them quite boring. IC are quite good, but I have struggled with LS cables…
I also think Cardas top cables are quite sure bet if you want musical, organic cable.
Transparent would be very easy for me to demo as it is very well distributed.Regarding your description of what you are looking for, I am a big fan of your at least hearing Transparent Audio (Ref series and above).
A big fan of Transparent Audio IC and SC cables generally (Reference series and above)...from MM2 to Gen 5...and used them with all the Gryphon amps (Antileon, Colosseum and Mephisto). I would imagine my preference would include the current Gen 6 no doubt. Have used TA Reference or higher cables since first purchasing a set of speaker cables 2nd hand in 2005.
I checked the Boenicke S3 but do they also make balanced interconnects ?This is what I wrote about cables in another post regarding cables:

I think they can make custom balanced xlr ic. I have tried their top of the line rca IC with separate ground cable and LS. Both are excellent. Boenicke cables are somehow based on Lessloss cables. I don’t know what the difference is but it might be worth checking them out because they are quite a bit more affordable.I checked the Boenicke S3 but do they also make balanced interconnects ?

I have a local dealer. I am in EU.Ok thanks.
