Hello and welcome to WBF!
I currently have a Linn LP12 with DC motor and powersupply/Naim ARO/ Benz Ruby Zebrawood. I completely enjoy my analog rig, however I'm curious on what your thoughts are in regards to difference in sound between your LP12 and your Amazon rig?

Best wishes,
Don

Hi Don

LP12 is great for playing Maxis since the Amazon has a battery powered drive, which has to be recharged from time to time (of course more often when spinning at 45 rpm). PRaT on the Linn are excellent, but the Amazon topps it with authority, spaciousness, depth and width of soundstage etc. But it has also to be admitted that the Amazon has the better cartridges (Lyra Etna, Kleos SL, Etsuro Bordeaux) than the Linn (just Lyra Kleos) and is more than double the price of the Linn...

Best regards,

Martin

Hello Martin,

Thank you so much for your reply :) As nice as it would be to hear the comparison of both tables using the same cartridge would be, I still appreciate your general thoughts that you have shared between the two analog rigs.

Best wishes,
Don

Can’t be more happy with Da Vinci EQ turntable, Durand Tosca and Miyajima Destiny, oh of course and the Dally Pirueta weight :)

Congrats! Please let me know about your experience with Destiny. I am a Madake user and am wondering the differences between the two

Destiny has more weight in the bottom end compared to Madake in a nutshell, therefore can handle big orchestra better. Of course there are other improvements but this is the most obvious one.
Congrats! Please let me know about your experience with Destiny. I am a Madake user and am wondering the differences between the two

It´s actually gumetal which is a special bronze alloy....35Kg platter and graphite cast iron tripod
I have one Groovemaster 12 upgraded to MKIII including the new VTA lift with a Rowland Complement/IKEDA cantileverless MC feeding a S&B SUT, then the "TwinPeaks" 12s from Stefano Bertoncello of the blog twoogoodears in FR B-60s VTA bases with new bronze nuts with mono and stereo DaVa fieldcoil carts feeding their own mono and stereo custom x50 SUT, since I need the extra gain into my S&B TVC pre......also have a Dynavector DV-505 with the lift and custom bronze base and an Airtangent Reference with a Lyra Titan "i"
next week I´ll probably get the new DaVa Reference fieldcoil too....
also ordered new bronze armboards ...my previous experience tells me the added mass is enhancing resolution and dynamics.....I even had the bearing caps on the TwinPeaks made in bronze as opposed to ss
same experience I had when I got my TAD 4003 adapters and TAD 2002 horns in alu replaced by custom bronze equivalents

it´s the original Melco 3533 unit..cruising at about 250rev.......at startup it "struggles" a little, then a relay clicks in after 15 sec´s when it has reached full speed, and then it´s dead quiet even under a stetoscope, obviously just doing maintenance pulling..

The dust on some of yours cost more than my Fluance RT 85 but it works for me.
