Some of the complaints about rhodium come from it being put in contact with a dissimilar metal. Since your “Furutech sockets are all Rhodium”, it was a good call to go with this. I use Shunyata products and their choice of metals have them recommending avoidance of rhodium so none of my three Super3s have the rhodium IEC. But all have Orange fuses, that I swapped in later. Absolutely worth it.

As far as DC cables, this was easily the best I’ve tried: https://audiosensibility.com/blog/p...-Silver-DC-Cable/p/102469015/category=2595837. It takes a few weeks to burn in but is quite stunning once it gets there. They usually have a discount code listed on their home page.

I haven‘t tried the Sablon DC cable, though odds are that it’s really good.

Been running the Farad Super3 24V/5.5A model, w rhodium IEC and SR Orange fuse, using a Sablon Elite pwr cord.

Initially wasn't bowled over by the presentation, but 24hrs run in, and things were cooking.

So, while my SOTA Eclipse tt motor upgrade provides all the headline improvement, the addition of the Farad (replacing stock SMPS wall wart) fills out the subtleties.

This means that the motor is the drastic step up in my system in areas like slam, timing, imaging and air, and the Farad then takes things on in maxxing natural warmth, tonal solidity, and crazy front to back depth, helping unravel mixes in a way my system never hinted at before.

I'd call my SOTA motor the iron fist, the Farad is the velvet glove that fist so snugly fits within Lol.

I'll answer my own question. There is a Super 10 coming in the autumn probably. Anyways, I went ahead and ordered the Super3 with fuse and Furutech IEC. Also, I took the 1,0m DC2 silver cable since I thought it was a good place to start.

I will put this on my streamer first. Although I admit I'm a bit interested how it performs on the EtherRegen or OCXO clock, but maybe for another time..

I'm using a Farad super 3 with rhodium IEC and SR Orange fuse + CC Power Cable Level 2 upgrade copper (I don't like silver). It outperforms many other power supplies I have.
Until recently it was plugged with Harmonic Technology power cord (Furutech FI-50 NCF plugs). I replaced this power cord for the excellente Furutech DPS 4.1 + Furutech FI-50 NCF plugs (yes, more expensive than the power supply but.....) some weeks ago and the performance becomes impressive.

Yes I use that DPS4.1 /NCF cord on my Meridian digital preamp, works great. I’ll use a Shunyata Alpha V2 AC cable on the Farad for my streamer.

I thought the improvement from adding a Super3 to the EtherRegen was nearly as big as adding the EtherRegen itself.

My ER's ground is connected to the CGC connector on my Denali v1. I'm using cheap OFC wire. How much of the benefit you heard was from connecting the ground to your Denali vs using the Sigma ground cable?

In my setup it felt like I did the ground upgrade again. I went from cgs10 which was shunyatas first ground cable and not KPIP treated to Sigma CGC with the V2 conductor. Only the Sigma CGC has the v2 conductor.

FARAD SUPER3

Farad is a new brand that comes from the Pink Faun stable. We have a first version with a housing that can still change. Technically, however, it will remain the same. That means that we can take this into account in the test.

The Farad has one output with a voltage of 12 volts in this case. You can choose between standard cables or a chic cable with a nice boot and a kind of carbon plug. (additional charge 60 euros).

The design of the Farad is a bit different. This is mainly due to the super caps (hence the name Super3) that Farad uses. That also means that this power supply needs to charge for a while before we can switch it on and start using it. Count on about 30 seconds before energy is transmitted. The same applies the other way around: draining the Farad takes a while ... It really is a kind of super-battery.

Sjonge… (WOW!) how good the Farad Super3 measures! There is actually no noise at all. So this is going to be a very boring story. We see nothing at all on the AudioPrecision: a stable noise level of around -140 dBV to around 1 kHz. From 1 kHz we see that it rises slightly towards the 50 kHz. But yes: around -130 to -125 dBV, so what are we talking about?

The square wave also comes through nicely, although it seems to be slightly muted. Perhaps the result of a coil or the supercaps ...

LISTENING
Rest, rest, rest ... The Farad is a special product. It lifts the Mytek one level above that of the Sbooster. We hear more black, more music. Purely because of the silence it can bring. The voice of Beth Gibbons is completely loose (intended positively) and has received a beautiful natural timbre. No hardness. The edges around the high hats are also completely gone. The dac is also no longer close to busier, more complex work. Very special to hear this. If you think it can't be better ... It can be done. Absolutely a top product.

I received the Farad Super 3 last week, so just after a few days of playing I really have been impressed. The super 3 is imposing a totally black background and the sound is more detailed but musical at the same time, the bass is better controlled and super fast !!

Overall a great upgrade!

The Silent Switch arrives tomorrow. Question: How are the ground/isolate switches used? What's their purpose? The isolate setting at each port is used to reduce noise from a router, if you are using the Fiber Box or are downstream from another switch it is not needed. I left all ports in...

My nucleus is connected to my DCS Rossini via Ethernet. Although I know that the only way to really compare these 2 products is to try them in my own system, but input is appreciate. Thanks.

I don't think you will hear that much of a difference in this appclication.

I would rather try optical isolation (optical Ethernet) or a better switch, or a better PSU for the switch first.

I do use a farad super 3 with a Nucleus into a dCS Bartok via Ethernet.
The Nucleus being 19V makes it harder to compare than if it was 12V, so I haven't compared it to other LPSU
