New Album & The Beginning of Basketball Season

Stephen A at ESPN has stated that with out a 3rd player to step up and help AD and LeBron (Kuzma??) the Lakers have no chance of winning it all. I agree. Kuzma has had flashes but nothing consistent. I like Kuzma. If he is on his game he is unstoppable but I just haven't seen it. Hopefully Rondo will return soon but he is no savior 3rd man.

Second round series in the east have proved that the East will be tough as the Celtics showed their strength in beating the Raptors and the Heat showing no fear in their game 1 against the Bucks

In the west the big series should it materialize is the final between Lakers and Clippers where I expect it to all end for the Lakers and the promise of getting those few needed players to help him win the title next year, yada yada yada at the young age of 36

Sad to hear the news of John Thompson. What a coach that had such impact with 4 of his players in the Hall of Fame
Patrick Ewing
Allen Iverson
Alonzo Mourning
Dikembe Mutombo

Phil

I knew the Celts were good but haven't thought of them in the Eastern finals let alone winning it all but what a gutsy team. Toronto played good but Celtics played great

I got a little worried when Tatum got the T with 1:10 left in the game to bring it to within 3 however with 1:00 left its 100-99 Boston

What a finish to a great game as Celts go up 2-0, winning 102 99 as Siakam gives up the ball with :39 left and Celts play out the clock

Amazing how a team can go from hot to cold. Last week I thought the Raptors could win the East but after tonight's game the Raptors are in trouble

Looks like a duel between Mitchell and Murray. Not sure if Murray can do it 4 games in a row but he has the better number 2 in Jokic .

Good thing I woke up to some surprising but pleasant news Steve.

My 'feel' has us C's up by 2 games but that doesn't mean anything until we win 2 more. The defending champions are what they are, they are true warriors, and the C's have to show poise down the line as they did, actually overcoming an 8 point deficit in the early 4th to take the lead. Smart, who used to be my and several Celtics fans laughing stock, hit 5 straight treys and that was a key moment as Kemba was having a bad shooting night. C's are not deep but their first 5 is quite good, and they are even missing the 35m dollar man who is on rehab for his sprained ankle. There is a good fight in this young Celtics team, and hopefully they get 2 more wins. :)

Celtics up 2-0 on the Raptors? That is impressive.

Boston looking good, Phil!
Thanks Mike. I'm happy at a 2-0 lead, hope they keep it up in winning. :)

Thrilling game down the wire. Heatbreaking loss for the Jazz. Great heart by both teams. Great series.

Two big games today. I love the moxie of Butler and the Heat but game 2 we have to expect the Bucks to be better prepared. Nonetheless, if the Heat win today the Bucks (as the Raptors) are in trouble

But for me the big game today is Houston and OKC, the winner of which get the Lakers in round 2. Personally I hope OKC beats Houston for so many reasons
1. Westbrook/Paul trade
2. I hate the Rockets
3. I hate Harden more
4. I hate D'Antoni the most and hope they fire him afterwards as his contract is up for renewal

Kudos to the Nuggs who came back from a 3-1 deficit to close out the Jazz

Sadly the Nuggs season will end with this series against the Clipps. So far I haven't seen a team that can match the bench of the Clipps

I am anti-Rocket as well and agree with your points 1 through 3.

For some reason I've always liked D'Antoni but he's never coached a team I was rooting for. He did not do well while with the Lakers.

Butler strikes me as a very hard working player, and emotional one too as I recall he was lashing out his Philly team mates last year for not giving their best in their games. Having bolted Philly, he has a good home now for the next 3 seasons with a new contract and the Heat surely is getting its money's worth. On the reverse side, I notice they are still paying Udonis Haslem who has been a Heat forever, literally, since 2003 and actually played 4 games and averaged 3 points this season. :D

I watched D'Antoni coach the Lakers. He has no understanding of the word "defense". I hate his run and gun style which destroyed Kobe and shortened his career IMO
