Just because that's your taste, it doesn't make it so for everybody.

I find both tube sources much superior to having tube pre or power like AR downstream. And I like the upper end AR stuff. And 1201 isn't really a fair compare the 3000 is where it starts getting good, H5000 being excellent.
The TAD D600 may be ahead of the Origine , with the Mooks of course !

Keith, you are wrong there. You need to hear the Pac. It will immediately change your mind.

maybe it will, but I'm not interested in trying and the Pacific is substantially above my budget anyways. i gave my lampi thoughts on my MSB thread and won't rehash them again.

Jonathan Valin, very much a hardcore analog purist, seems to have really liked the MSB Reference, giving it a Golden Ear award.

"The most lifelike digital component I've heard in my home"

Nice! And that was just a base model Reference :) Imagine the SELECT...

It would be nice to have a shootout between the MSB Reference and the Totaldac Twelve mk2, they are both SS and in the same price range.

That guy Matt on the 'gon who has had loads of dacs through his system is supposed to get a Totaldac at some point. Unfortunately the only MSB he's had is the older Dac V but uses a Davinci which is no slouch.

I think the Davinci is pure R2R with no upsampling and no filter. Some R2R are not, the CH Precision for example....

Are there any internal photos of DaVinci dac to share?
I am curious.
Thanks.

Well, I can see this is oddball to some. Most forums don't allow dealers or manufacturers to post in the threads. I have got used to that here TBH. And I don't worry about it. We are all very grown up around here, and there will be some folk who like this DAC, others like that DAC. I met some of the AC dealers at Munich this year, and I have to say they are just like me:

Vincent, you can post in your own manufacturers thread for all TotalDAC posts. That is another method. The regular threads may however draw newbies in who don't know about your gear. So both is good IMO.

So after all this talk, you finally disclose you are an Aries importer?

I was not a dealer then, never was before either. I am now, and the day I became such I posted, announced it and put it in my signature. But I still think anyone can talk about any product in any thread. Just because that thread is started about a particular product. Just like when people chat about audio, they don't stay on the same product for long. It is how members learn and share new experiences. Lastly, this forum is free, so no manufacturer can expect to own a thread. Hope this clears your question / note?
