I know this old arm is good but I don’t know why David,Rockitman,Tang,Ron,Mike
Use or will use having top tonearm like Sat,EliteAxiom,Black Beauty,Durand

Why 3012 is so special?
I never had and I don’t understand
Only to know for my curiosity

You may have to adjust your volume. I didn’t level match when recorded.

Yes, it seems there is a large difference between levels. If it was not for the distance and customs I would send you my little used Korg MR-2000S and ask you to produce some DSD tracks with your different cartridges!

Thank you. I picked up the 33 after visiting MikeL. I thought it might be that, but if there was an older pressing (of any album) worth a damn I'd jump on it fast. I just don't know of any quality older pressings with Dean Martin...

If You would allow me to butt in dear Ron. Just be open minded. Allow yourself to leave your baggage behind and try what ddk has to offer when he visits you. You don’t have to like his approach to sound. Don’t think. Just leave yourself empty and have humors. Don’t listen when he guide you to hear what he think you are hearing. Just listen only to music after you let him help setup your system. Be truly open to what you hear. Let yourself sink into the sound for a day. Then you decide if he is correct or not. Yes he will throw into your system that cheap Ching Cheng Chinese power cords. Let him. It is fun. I myself had a good laugh with him throughout the time he was with me. You are a tube lover so it isn’t going to be a wrestling match with him from the start.

Your sincerely,
Tang

Thank you for interjecting, Tang!

I am very much looking forward to stepping back and letting David do his set-up and fine-tuning. I look forward simply to watching and to hearing the results.

David and I never wrestle!

You would lose easily if you did

Tang,
What is the status of the subs? Are they on or off?

Off. May be subs are too much for my room. It is very room dependent and I was ignorant about bass. Now actually get better space and definition...zero smear.

Kind regards,
Tang

If they are off, you should try removing them from the room.
That is some very crucial real estate, right between the speakers.
Their volume could empathize your bass, or the sub drivers could function as bass absorbers when off.
You won’t know til you try.

Good suggestion Lagonda. That is exactly what David suggested me. Maybe I could use them as beverage bar instead.

Kind regards,
Tang

Use them when you get a dedicated audio room. You could place a nice hammock between the speakers, no bass effect, and perfect for afternoon power-naps. And when your wife finally decides you have spent enough time and money on audio, you have a place to sleep !

Tang, I'm not getting this.
I heard Cessaro Gammas at Munich, and even w the subs on, they lacked full range down into the bass regions befitting a €350k pr of spkrs.
And now you're talking about switching the subs out completely.

Trust me Marc there are many things you would not believe I have done. My friends, you included, are probably thinking I have been brainwashed or hypnotized by ddk to hear things as is. He could be pushy...but with good intention. One thing he didn’t do was to talk me into hearing things like many so-called “experts” I met. He showed me the way. The rest is up to me. Not a word of pursuasion from him that this is the right sound. Like I said before I was ignorant about bass..(and actually a few other things.) My room cannot take these subs. I will keep them for my dedicated room. Cessaro is one speaker most people in this forum have heard it sounded terrible. I can’t do anything with that. But have you ever heard ddk gave compliments to any modern time horns or in fact any speakers other than a few vintage? Like I said before the sound we were listening to was just the type that he and I kept looking at each other, smile and freakin laugh with joy.

I give you another clip I just recorded a few hours ago. Not bass heavy music but it sounds quite nice imo.

Well Tang, my subs only cut in at 35Hz, and only at minimal volume level, anything else seriously detracts from the overall illusion.

I have no doubt Dave brought a fresh pair of ears and perspective to yr sound, and his changes made complete sense.

There was no AS2000 in Munich ;)!

You really need a good strapline for AS2000/3012 ads.
"No need for any other tt. No need for any other arms. And, God damnit, no need for any subs!".

Tang’s Cessaro’s are excellent, far better than any other modern horns I’ve come across and there’s are fullrange.
