* Did you watch a film last night (on Blu or DVD), and what was it? *

Watched four more episodes of the first season of Lost on blu-ray with my wife. We're both hooked!

A great series Rob

I watched every episode for the 7 years it was on

Season One of True Blood was pretty good. I could recommend it. It has some colorful if not fleshed out characters and deals with difficult social issues using Vampires as stand-ins. The second season got Soap-ish for me and I lost interest.

June 28th for the extended versions of LOTR.

I gave up on Lost after a few seasons. Got tired of the endlessly put off mini-resolutions to issues and finally lost confidence, correctly or not, that the creators really knew where the story was going.

A favorite series of recent times was Battlestar Galactica. Superb writing and acting, and fast moving story lines that consistently surprised in satisfying ways. It reached levels of intensity rarely seen on a TV show -- you believed that survival was often at stake.

I hated the original BSG. I absolutely loved the re-imagining. I collected the entire set from the Mini-Series, every succeeding season including Razor and the Caprica pilot. Dark but most of all very human. Top not cast except perhaps Bamber and Grace Park but Park's hotness made up for whatever talent she lacked. Very highly recommended even for people that normally do not like Sci-Fi.

My favourite mindless series has been Spartacus: Gods of the Arena, and previously Spartacus: Blood and Sand. Lots of violence and sex. My wife and I would snuggle in bed with the iPad after the kids have gone to sleep......

Last night.

* Great acting, great movie, realistic, tough life! ...Highly Recommended!

Hehehehe. Spartacus was nuts. Mindless indeed. I've never seen so many characters with dialog stating the obvious in any other TV show of movie. Still, loads of fun. I bet ER and trauma docs would love this.

Agreed on all counts.

Best Of the Best?

Watched Paranormal Activity 2 tonight on blu-ray with my 12 year old daughter. Ironically, she's the only one in the family who will watch scary movies with me. In fact, she requests them. Anyway, this had a hard act to follow because we both really liked the first one. This one didn't have the surprise value of the first one, it's kind of "more of the same" but that was good enough -- it did its job -- kept us creeped out, hearts a-pumpin' 'til then end. Doubt I'll watch it again like I did the first one, but my daughter probably will.

Watched 4 more episodes of the first season of Lost on blu-ray with my wife. We've gone through 12 episodes in less than a week. We're diggin' it!

Last night...

Last night I watched this very young 9-year old from a double-disc set (CD & DVD),
and the DVD picture & sound was quite fine.
His performance as well from his guests was simply mesmerizing!
I recommend this to everyone here!
