What's Spinning Tonight?

Excellent! Had not yet checked out of Pono yet so added it to the cart there: https://www.ponomusic.com/ccrz__CCP...e4844a43a69ccef084&pageKey=product&type=Album

Nice bargain at $10 relative to $17 on Amazon.

Thanks a bunch for the recommendation.

Cool, you're welcome. Aside from Virgins (above) I'd also recommend checking out Harmony in Ultraviolet and An Imaginary Country, although most of tim Hecker's stuff is worth checking out.

As to today... Well, so far:

Hans Theessink Band, "Bridges". Redbook.
Man that's good stuff! High prices on Amazon so bought a used one for $12. Then went to bandcamp and found this related jewel: https://gaitkleinkromhof.bandcamp.com/album/gait-2

Darn good deal at US $7.23.

Thanks Steve. This was a nice change from my recent rampage of classical and Jazz.

If you like that one, check out this one...Hans Theessink and Terry Evans, "Delta Time". Meanwhile, I'm going to check out "Gait" that you recommend.

You were right. :) Bought it on Amazon and realized there were a total of 10 CDs waiting for check out!!! Good grief. But I think I will live :). Thanks Steve.

I have not yet warmed up to "atmospheric music." While I generally like the tone, they are a bit too abstract for me. That said, Thomas has a nice store on bandcamp so picked up a few tracks there :). http://thomaskoner.bandcamp.com/

I get it, definitely not everyone's cup of tea. Brian Eno's Apollo basically sent me down that particular track thirty years ago, and I've continued to mine it, though with most minimal/ambient/illbient/dark-ambient stuff it can be pretty hit and miss. Thomas Köner's output is still a high-water mark for me, along with Lull, Tim Hecker, Loscil, Robert Henke and Paul Schütz. Speaking of dark-ambient stuff...

And with that, I bid you good night.

Long listening session planned tonight as wife is away so I can listen late into the night. Starting off with Eliane Elias Made in Brazil, 24/96.

Time for a little serious listening tonight.
Way Out West, Saxophone Colossus, Art Pepper meets the Rhthym Section. All 3 192/24 2ch DVDa's jp, I've had these in many diff formats. Not even close. Haven't played them in awhile.

Sarah McKenzie We Could Be Lovers 24/96. Very nice debute. So so sonics, too much reverb and compression.
Scott Hamilton and the Jeff Hamilton Trio Live at the Bern. 16/44.1. Excellent music and sound.
