Midwest fly over state..
I have a 6 TB Synology NAS drive on my network via ethernet cable but when i go to My Compter/Network it only shows up sporadically. I've googled and this problem appears to be very common but so far no one seems to have found a solution. I've disabled firewalls etc to no avail. If I can't access the darn thing there's no way of ripping and adding new music...bummer. Any advice would be much appreciated..

Most of the time a NAS is configured to enter sleep state hence it won’t broadcast its name on the network.
A simple one is to map a drive in Win Explorer e.g. S: maps to \\Nas\music
Click on it in Explorer and it will awake.

I personally use a usb flash disk connected to my Synology NAS and operate through the Synology administration app to add music.

Well the NAS finally did show up on my network so I created a shortcut...end of problem!
