THE HIFI FIVE ROUNDTABLE DISCUSSION STREAMING LIVE ON YOUTUBE PREMIERING IN OCTOBER!

The HiFi Five Episode 2: Guest Shanon McKellar
I’m enjoying the conversations. Thanks to Ron and all the participants. Listening to podcasts such as this, always enhance my dishwashing, litter box cleaning and other domestic chores.

My only suggestion would be for Ron to loosen up a little bit and let people get off on tangents.

For instance, Elliott was just getting started about his various girlfriends through the decades when Ron abruptly pulled the plug. I think I speak for all, when I say we want more. It almost feels like Ron has a looming appointment he has to rush off to.

I would, however, cut the music sharing segment. Personally, I don’t have any interest in what music the participants are listening to. No offense. I just think there are more interesting things that could be discussed.

Thank you for your thoughts!

We are finding our way on the appropriate mix of structure and free for all. Keep in mind it's not like a news show where the world throws you new exogenous topics to discuss every day.

I find anything longer than 60 minutes inherently boring and invasive. A five person free for all could go on for two hours.

Elliot discussed some of his experiences with girlfriends. We heard Elliot complain about a girlfriend who didn't want to listen to music but wanted him to go shopping with her at Christian Louboutin. That was great and interesting and relevant, and a fair point!

But then, in the next go-round, when he wanted to return to the same subject talking about girlfriends, I felt we had already covered that ground. That was the only reason I interrupted him.

This hobby is supposed to be about music, not just about audio. Danny has a wealth of experience on recordings and pressings and new issues. I really like the music segment! And it's a nice way to break up the guest interview and free for all discussion segments.

I just think we have to figure out a way to make the music segment more interactive. It also would be great if Danny could post on the chat the names of the albums and perhaps even links to the albums.

Great show-really enjoyed it. I agree on keeping it tight-5 on a panel is pushing it for an hour. I agree, FWIW, on the music segment-I could do without that segment. No criticism, just (hopefully) constructive feedback.

Hi Ron,
What is the objective here? How deep and broad are you will to go?

Additionally, do you find it risky to associate yourself with a used - gear dealer: Does the guy - or anyone - know where the gear came from? How many people owned it ? touched it? Who done what to it? Who may have modified it? Etc... Are you concerned about your reputation?

caesar, how does the history of used gear effect us on a podcast. You are really stretching man. Jay has a business and he is doing well. I think that almost anyone can call a factory and find out the basic history of any item that has a serial number. I know Jay, I call Jay my friend and I believe that he is a reputable person. Period!!
As far as reputation LOL that's funny

The Hifi 5 is going to change the course of Audio ....stay tuned, subscribe and participate we are just getting started. (WEG)

Really enjoying the pod. You have some very interesting guests and topics. Last night's show seemed a little looser on the moderation, yet did not get too far in the weeds and I appreciated that.

Thank you for your comments!

Episode 2 was too structured and rigid. That was my fault.

I think last night was a better balance of informal, relaxed and more free-for-all.

I got kind of bored. It was very stiff. Having the members that are not speaking in the frame is odd.

Wow, I could not disagree with Elliott more about multichannel/immersive content. When mixed well it is phenomenal. Live acoustic music in a concert hall is not stereo, it is immersive. Kind of Blue and Take Five were recorded to three channel. I would love to hear those mixes. A program devoted to this topic would be great.

I really enjoyed the guest and the overall show in this episode
Seemed like folks were having more fun
Adam is very knowledgable, likable and engagaging…I would just make sure they guests are always engaged in the conversation and never left out for too long.
We have a pretty good idea of the panels views and their interaction with the guest is informative and interesting but make it about the guest… IMHO of course
Things are coming together…nice job to all!

First , thanks for watching and of course expressing your opinion. We are certainly able to disagree and that's great.

I think everyone is now starting to find their stride, it’s only going to get better, of that I am sure

I watched episode 3 and enjoyed it. It is nice to see that Resolution audio managed to survive that fire, and that their business is doing well - I would have been curious to know more about the installations they have worked on - they have probably set up some pretty impressive systems in NYC…they could probably write a good gossip column as well :)

The casual format is nice. I enjoyed hearing everyone’s point of view on multichannel audio, for example.

Please join us tonight at 9 pm for the next episode.

some interesting subjects tonight and the boys will debate.
