Wife and audio

@MarkusBarkus , don't laugh. Do really know where these women came from? A different species or different planet? Do we really know??????

...lots of people talkin' few of them know. The soul of a woman was created below.

I'm 67 and have figured very little out re: origin of the lady-species. Mysteriosa...

the story about Eve's formation was one of the biggest cases of misdirection in history. (No offense to literal readers)

My wife didn't like the Roon interface at first, but now she makes playlists and searches for music she might have heard elsewhere and wants to check out. In those cases, she will choose high-resolution if available (once I demonstrated the difference in SQ). I must admit that when she chooses the music and cranks up the volume it gives me great pleasure. Especially, if she dances along.

As for gear, she couldn't care less. But since the listening room is the living room, has strong opinions about the aesthetics. Luckily, we agree 100% in this area.

My wife is the streamer and uses Spotify. I've never streamed music so she is ahead of me on that though just uses het iPhone, iPad, or car to listen, never our main system. I have ordered a Streamer and plan on trying Qobuz.

Our listening room is the family room and decor is her passionate hobby so no room treatments allowed. She wanted stand mount speakers and components and wires to be out of view. Fortunately I love the speakers we have and the Anthem STR preamp with ARC Genesis works really well in our room.

My wife loves music and our system. She played an integral role in the room design, speaker and amp choices. She does not get very excited about equipment, so I get to narrow things down and then she helps with the final decision. She enjoys music more as a background while reading and is not so much into critical listening unless I ask her opinion.

We go to shows together and visit manufacture's sites together. She loved visiting YG and Boulder.

We plan to go to Vienna next year and she's the one doing the planning :)

2-3 hours most nights in out listening room.
