Any insights between AVM Audio 8 and 8.2 amplifiers

Many years ago I owned a pair of AVM Amp essential monoblocks. It's a long story about why I moved on, but I liked them a lot. I am looking at an amp now. There is an 8 available at one online dealer and an 8.2 at another. The 8.2 is essentially double the price. I know there are improvements, but I wonder if the circuit is markedly improved. I will be using a pair of JBL 4367 so not a wicked load. Anyone have insights with the two amplifiers?

I am a big AVM fan. 8.2/8.3 are a step up. Difference in .2/.3 is minor
I have 8.2 pre and 8.3 monos.

To bring this thread to a close.

I called up TMR who is the seller of the 8.2. and a service center. AVM offers no service support and expects the amp to come back to Germany if it ever needs attention. I also called what the web shows as the distributor. They are now the former distributor and they say the AVM software is problematic and they will not assist with troubleshooting in the US.

With this info in hand I choose to pass on a purchase of either amp. Now my search continues for a replacement for my Classe. Actually I have a Martix MA-1 in got a listen and it is remarkably good.

Sorry to hear about that. I had an issue once and piece was sent to Germany and covered by company with no issues. Did you talk to Bluebird?

As I understand it Bluebird is no longer the importer. Fidelity Imports now has the brand. It appears AVM has gone through several importers in the last 10 to 15 years.

That’s a bummer. I am not in the States, btw. Glad you found what you are looking for. I hope AVM can correct course. They make killer stuff
