What's Spinning Tonight?

Sadly the fireworks started early here today driving my poor golden retriever nuts. But I do have a solution, I’ve closed all the doors and windows, turned on the AC, and warmed up the stereo. 300W per channel of pure class A, more than enough to drown out 98% of the outside noise. It’s a classic rock kind of night……….. First up, Creedence Clearwater Revival- Bayou Country

Very stressful day for all the dogs. Same here on new years eve. Vera, the black original Schnauzer I had before returning her to the heavens, always wanted to lay very very close to me, in the bed, up on my pillow, with the cover swept around us when the fireworks started. She literally was shaking. However, she was a smart dog, and I sometimes wonder if she just made up a reason for staying in bed… LOL…!!

Yes, the label is kind of gnarly. I purposely covered it in clear nail polish hoping to preserve it and hopefully lock in some of the nastiness. This was one of many flood victim LP’s I purchased years ago from someone who cleans out abandoned storage units. The covers were a total loss. However, the selections were worth going through the gross process of cleaning up the vinyl….and gross is and understatement (gloves, masks, spray down with hydrogen peroxide out in the garage, wash with Dawn once, twice, ultrasonic clean cycle once, twice…………whew! Not sure I’ll ever do that again. I am enjoying the fruits of that labor right now but sometimes, I have nightmares.

I like Wes Montgomery as well. As long as the groves are good just roll with it. Might be a issue if you want to sell, cosmetic reasons.

Every day is classical day at my house. :D

I've found that when posting classical music here in the music forum that it's best to add a little sugar (pagan music) to mix as this helps the medicine (classical music) go down a bit easier for most people.. ;)
It always gives me a chuckle when folks say they don’t listen to classical (and/or jazz) especially when they belong to the “TV” generation. The soundtracks to a majority of TV shows, commercials, cartoons and movies were full to the brim of classical (and/or jazz) music. They’ve been listening to (and enjoying) it, practically, all their life.

Yep. Probably couldn’t sell these things for more than a buck/pc. Play grade on these LP’s is EX. I wouldn’t necessarily say I got a steal considering the clean up I had to do; however, the cost to buy these same LP’s in EX condition with covers intact, far exceeds my monetary outlay. I complain for the dramatic effect but I’m pretty pleased. :D
