MUNCHEN 2025 MOC / MARRIOTT The final Chapter !

IMG_3264.jpegWhile the Pallas speaker was new, it was not the only new items in the Aries Cerat stable. There were new TriodeFet NOIES amps, called Odeysseas, a new preamp with Inverted Triode and NOIES called Aether, a new phonostage called Hermes and another new amp using NOIES called Quinndecim (on the second system. How was the sound? Fantastic! Incredible dynamics, transparency, scale, dimensionality and truth of timbre with the instruments. Very coherent for a large speakers.

IMG_3265.jpegA fun room with the new Summit series of speakers from JBL. Sound was punchy and dynamic but also on the dry side and so best suited for rock or electronic music. Powerful bass from a 12 inch woofer.

IMG_3267.jpegSuper pleasant surprise!! The Soundspace Systems new speaker was transparent, alive , spacious, dynamic and lovely instrumental tone. It uses a Supravox wideband driver with no crossover and an AMT with a simple first order crossover. Bass was active with opposite side firing divers. The back of the mid/high section was open baffle with another tweeter rear firing upward at a 30 degree angle. 96dB, so will work with a wide range of amps. Amp used was a small Vitus integrated and an AMG turntable with new AMG phonostage. Speaker was 32K euro and was one of the best values I have heard so far at the show.

Ok, I’ve just come back to my room after spending a decent time with fellow audiophiles with a stellar dinner hosted by Jonghyun from Hifistay, who did came over for a couple of beers with me in the hotel as well.

I literally visited all the rooms at MOC and Deluxe, so some truly outstanding rooms come from the biggest systems.

I can’t believe what I heard when I was in the sweet spot inside the Accapela and WE rooms. And the big Wilson Wamm with 2 pairs of Relentless monoblocks plus full stack dcs vivaldi blew me away even listen to just a single speaker in front if me.

FM Acoustic is disappointed as always, I don’t know because of the system itself or the music chosen to demo that mega bugs boxes. We all felt the same after listening to 1 track and left immediately to another as the following track is on the same vinyl with pretty poor sound quality.

Vyger is not as good as I expected. I felt boomy in the sweet spot and that disappeared when I switched with Adam who sat right next to me. Didn’t feel anything at all when we were there, no emotion or wow moment.

Apart from VW and that massive speakers from Italy, other rooms are not up to expectations. I’ll come back tomorrow morning and see if anything changed.

Cessaro room is disappointed as well. I was patiently sitting there for 10 minutes but they only played a few tracks on the same vinyl which are harsh and boomy, too much energy there although the room is not small; but I don’t think suit the massive size of these speakers.

Now is time for some decent hires photos as usual :). I have tomorrow to do whatever I need to do before flying back on early Sunday morning.

More hires pics.

Many rooms in the MOC sound truly fantastic this year, even that weird horn speakers (the smaller ones) did an amazing job with a beautiful blue piece.

Some more hires pics

I am truly impressed with the bass quality coming from small speakers this year, both standmounters and floorstanders. Very well setup indeed to suit the room and electronics.

And some more…

For whatever reasons, CH replaced the Rockport by Audiovector speakers. The guys at Techdas know how to demo their tt with good music when I was there. The second day is still pretty quiet compared to previous years. I have decent time to ask for music that suit my taste when listening to each specific system.

And I don’t know why, 2 days in a row, some rooms still not moved me including Tidal and their mega expensive speakers. Apart from the piano which is pure and clean, great honestly, everything else especially the bass is not up to the job based on the tracks I listened there from percussion to jazz.

Gryphon and Marten rooms sound really good even from different matchups.

The Vyger room is sounding good. Very decent resolution indeed. The speakers are very good but all the mid / top comes from the top half of the speaker and the bass from the bottom. Statement of the obvious looking at them I guess. Nice, though - decent engineering in those TTs.
First time I have seen Vyger turntables close-up, even though they sounded good, they are the ugliest turntables I’ve ever come across.

New brand to me .

Potar.at

Cool ls it has 360 degrees sound
Interesting, but nothing new here. The piano music they played hurt my hears, the midrange is too hot, and I could not stay in the room.

Which weird horn speaker sounded good to you? The Odeon? Or was it something else?

This speaker system was interesting.
I can't listen them in good conditions because people are talking near me...
And it is the problem in most rooms...

Prediction: they’re going to sell a bunch of these, and it won’t be for how they sound.

(and they might sound great for all I know.)
Yes, great sounds.
