I am sure if there were a market need, Technics could and probably would manufacture a heavy duty slotless lathe motor.

That said, I do like the look of the K5 a lot better than the K3. Pity about the pricing on both.

There’s always a “need” to get better. Sounding records/gear. I am sure if Technics could sell 10K they’d think about it as they have the brain power and the technical chops to do it. There’s really not a an economic upside for a large company to do this work.

Given what’s gone into the development of the K3 and K5 I don’t think their pricing it too out of line with the competition. Never going to be a mass market product. That being said the only way I will see either in my room is if OMA makes too many and needs some extra storage space so I get it.
