I like Kyoto very much, after our visits to Tokyo and Osaka, Kyoto is a much serene place, Not crowded and not noisy. Kids insisted we should walk along the streets to see the Geishas too. You and Cathy must have visited a lot of temples /gardens already.

The climb would make you and Cathy hungry almost instantaneously upon reaching the top. They have a complete working of beef, chicken and pork dishes there, not to mention the abundance of fresh seafood. You need the variety in a span of 2 weeks and not just the same tempura and sashimi.
