Do you guys trust your first impressions when listening to a system or a component? How long does it take you to evaluate?

I’m quicker these days... first impressions are important and then I’ve got it down to about a year to make up my mind for sure and then buy. Then another year to get it dialled right. Then another year to tweak it into place and max it all out in context of the system. Then a year to feel confident enough that I’m actually right and another year just to live at peace with my decision and leave things as they are... then another year to see how I can go further and just one more year then to realise I actually need to develop even further and grow. Then one year to find something better and buy it. Then throw in a year to be sure as well as get the courage and energy up to actually sell the previous gear. That’s about it for me, pretty quick at it now... it used to take me forever!
