Waboman;40767]Really, Greg? I didn't think anyone has been banned from the Logan site. It must've been a doozy.:D

Atcually there is an imp[ressive list. I thought the moderators would step in and ask them to leave me alone.

The term "at will" comes to mind when I read this thread, and it's spreading like the plague. I was fired or forced into retirement 8 years ago, being banned from a audio forum is a walk in the park compared to that.

Carry on!

Hi Roger,

Nice to see you over here.

I started this thread because the 'banning' thing is only the latest one.
But I did put the emphasis on 'being fired from a job'.
And that too it did happen to me few times in the past; and with some major and tragic consequences.
The Internet simply does not compare to it at all! I totally agree with you.

I do have several experiences of this as I worked for many contractors in my treeplanting career, and also with all the orchard's owners for who I worked for. ....As well the many factories and earlier jobs I did when in my teens.

Looking back I see many possibilities of different financial situations and also all the things that goes with it (people you frequent and things you love to do, prestige, plus family extension, and all that Jazz...).

Regrets? Amertume? ...Of course, at the time and even afterwards.
But now today, not anymore! Because this is valuable experience and the money value is very secondary.
As for family and friends; the true value is in your soul and not in your bank account!

If I have to put a figure in dollars lost due to my 'being fired' from some jobs in the past; it would easily amount in the millions!
But what I truly lost financially, I regain it spiritually!
I am one of those people that can gain from his losses...
And that, is one of the reasons I started this thread! ...Because what I can share with others!

This is the essence that one can learn, gain from his previous losses.

Roger, you are high in my 'estime' (French for high regards).

Bob

Hey Bob.

Lol. That's an impressive list. I thought your bluray forum was just a suspension and not a ban?

No sir, those are all 'permanent' bannings. Including the 'Audioholics' one.

* But stay tuned because it's going to get very interesting! ...And not just from me but from other members here as well.
{This thread is a true reflection in the mirror of life!}
...And it's much more than just about the Forums from the Wide Web World, but about Life itself and all the things that are in it!

Hi Bob, Thanks for the good words. Being "raped" in such a way, when it pertains to your livelyhood does have it's negative effects,for sure,the worst is the psychological aspect. Money comes and goes,but it takes a while to get your head back on straight.

Someday, I'll have some lightening bolts to throw and I have my list of targets.

Good to have you here,

Roger

Roger, it is a privilege to be able to talk to you here in this new Audio Forum.
There are some very smart people here and also from a very high caliber of knowledge.

And you are perfectly right regarding the emotional impact when your main passion is consecrated to Audio (Music) and all things related during the main part of your entire life.
As well to share with and learn from others that have the same passion.

I already made peace with the financial Gods, and I'm learning now on how to make peace with the cyber world. It is much harder for me as I am a very Earthy individual.
And I think that I'm getting there, slowly but surely.

Thank you sir,
Bob

Maybe there should be a web site that only allows membership for people who have been banned at a website. Of course, that would mean that if you have never been banned, you would be banned, and then you could get in anyway.
Back to the drawing board.

There is. It's called TardFarmers and it's run by Doctor Dan. I was called in there to join after I was banned from DSLR.. interestingly, that's when I learned I was the subject of a DSLRpedia entry. There's a sort of "Wiki" page on me, exposing all my 'dirty laundry' by the haters at DSLR.

Getting pre-banned is just a sign of collusion between site owners, which was the case with DVinfo. And Chris, the owner, should have been alot nicer, considering that back in 1997 or so, I granted him a telephone interview for his pirate radio station in San Marcos, TX. You'd think the least he'd do is grant me the benefit of a doubt..

How come I cannot access some site as a simple visitor (guest)? Blu-ray Forum cut all my access as a simple visitor and without the possibility to contact the administration! I cannot read the forums!

* It says that my IP address has been banned!

===> And the day that my PC got infected by about five or six very serious viruses with a "Blue Screen" attack, just few days ago, that very same day the site that banned me (Blu-ray Forum) was hard to access by some of its members!
Pure coincidence?

~ I went to my friend's place to learn about this (he's right across the street).

{I would love to use some great links from over there to help people here and elsewhere.}
{I got almost 5,000 posts from over there, and from which some contain exhaustive research and time.}
{Some single posts I spent hours and hours to perfect them for the great benefit of all the community.}
{There are some of my posts with very detailed graphs that were all made manually; very precise and with some that have over 12 hours invested in! That is for a single post alone!}

Would truly appreciate if someone can help me.

* Then I will be able to show you some of those posts (and threads) that I'm talking about.

____________________________

[With the 4,000 posts that Audioholics deleted along my banning, I lost a considerable amount of time and effort, plus all the great links that could have been very useful for other people.]
--> These are real tough to get over! This cyber world is as emotional as real life itself because you do spent considerable time and energy at helping others and all for free, and when you are cut in top of being banned to any access at all, it is absolutely devastating!
Do you guys (girls) understand the immensity of it?

...This is just the beginning of the tragedy!

Wait till I share some of my experiences in some major financial downfalls!
I'm sure we all have those, but it is still job related and real life experiences.

When you try to get your life back by helping others, so it helps you to combat some very harsh times you've been through before, and then you got destroyed even more; that mirror which was referred by Mep before, you've seen it and you've been right straight through it as well!

There are two things in this world; your job, and your true love!
And no matter what, one is directly related to the other.

Bob,

Doing a search for a member on Blu-ray.com will only yield approximately the last 500 posts. It would take an extraordinary effort to try to find your 5000 or so posts.

Rich

Thanks Rich! ...Because they probably limit to that number in order to save space.

But I'm pretty good with the 'Search' function, and can find the stuff I'm looking for.
BUT HELAS I simply don't have any access at ALL now even as a simple guest!!! Like I said my IP address has also been banned! I am totally cut off!
And I'm just too old to play games.

See what I'm talking about; it goes way beyond a simple banning Rich! All the energy and time I spent over there, plus all my friends; it's all gone now!
I don't know if you read some of my posts there Rich, but some of those are very clear and precise and detailed in order to help the people to who I replied to on their questions or dilemmas.
If you ask ANYONE at ALL, from any Forums, they'll tell you that I have NEVER turned down a single individual; I always went to the limit of my capabilities to help EVERYONE! Without any exception!

There are even some individuals that made threads about all the help that I provided to them!
I am extremely devoted to resolve any issues that people might have and to help in order to improve their life with better Sound, and Picture, if I can. I give it all! All of me!

__________________________________________

* I was also banned on Sound & Vision Mag Forum. ...And NO, not because I was bad, but because few people didn't like a new member with knowledge that was a bit different than theirs!

~ It is impossible for mods to read all that is related on some topics, and it takes time, patience, intelligence to fully comprehend the true issues that are sometimes at stakes.
And very seldom that you can find that on the Internet; it is simply impossible because of the extreme time consuming, and decisions are made quickly based on superficial last moments!

There is no law to stop the hatred from some people or whatever you wanna call it!
And even if it is the members of a forum who determine the path, the general course of all subjects of discussions; it is always the administration and the staff team (mods) who make the final decisions.

__________________________________________

In two years I learned a lot; I believe much more than your average person as I spent way more time than anyone else on the ditto forums. And I get to know a lot of people, and see where I fit better overall. But the friends I made along the way (even from the banned forums), are very dear to me.
And I am a normal human being as anyone else here and everywhere; so I do have emotions, and some deep ones too... COMMUNICATION is the essence of a better World, and if we cannot communicate, then we are losing the main essential ingredient of living!

The true you is the one that is present in the NOW! Yesterday was the road that brought you here.

Rich, thank you for your support and friendship,
Bob

Spending time on forums is something one is wasting an 'investment' on. It's one think to socialise and share knowlege; it's entirely another thing to become obsessed with it to the point where your life is impacted by the loss of privilages on a forum.

I have no issues with yanking my posts from a forum that displeases me. Check out what happened to one of my threads on Home Theater Shack. This was me, retracting the gift that I can easily take back:

http://www.hometheatershack.com/for...30-bass-pigs-lair-gets-projection-system.html

All due to a stupid and hidden rule against having a commercial web site URL in your tagline.

They call me the "Jack Bower of the Internet", because, like the lead character in 24, I'm ruthless, viscious and seek the most efficient means to an end. For some forums, I'm a big loss. Of course around here it's like the old saying from the Three Stooges: "She Was Bread in Old Kentucky but She's Just a Crumb Up Here." :)

Mark, I was reprimended at the Shack for the exact same thing: I posted a link to a great review from another site!
I didn't know that it was not permitted, and I was treated like a child! ...Like I committed a big crime!

I don't really care to have been banned from that site as it does not fit my values in life.

* As for being 'obsessed', I am not! I made it very clear that it is the people with who you are interacting who become your allies and friends.
And that is a true feeling which I have a lot of respect for. The PEOPLE!

I can stop totally on a dime to use a computer at all! I already did it once and I can do it anytime at will! ...And for the rest of my life if I decide so!
I have several hobbies that I am truly passionate about, and I can switch my life over just like that!
I am quite resourceful Mark.

Right now, I luv the communication and exchanges with people just like you! The Wide Web World is still very new to me, and there is a lot to discover! UNLIMITED source of Informations!

All my life I worked extremely hard physically; it's good for me now to have a balanced mental disposition.

One day at a time... :)

This is only a test!

Ok, I just came back from across the street at my friend's place.
I was checking at Blu-ray Forum under the section Audio Theory Discussion.
And a friend of mine, Jim Shaw, started this thread...

And I wrote down this thread: Audyssey Calibration: One Point Or Many Points?

* Now, I cannot access the thread from this link just above; not from here at home, as I don't have the permission either to be a simple guest to read the forums (my IP address was also banned).

But I am curious if you guys can access that link from above. Could you please tell me if you can?
{And feel free to check some of my posts if indeed you can, and you have few minutes of spare time.}

=> That is a fair reflection (mirror) of who Bob (me) truly is.
[Of course they removed my avatar as well my signature with useful links.]
And by the way my username is the same as here, except for the EE (Extended Edition). ;)

WOW, I don't even remember that. I didn't even know you were banned (so it wasn't me). What the heck were the circumstances? The only folks I've ever banned over there were those who made racist, misogynistic or threatening comments. Although I certainly don't know you well, I can't fathom you falling into that group.

Never been fired from a job (yet), but I've had to do my unfair share of firing. It's never pleasant, but sometimes it's easier than other times. I fired a guy last month who was stealing from another employee. Prior to that I had to let a good guy go who let his temper get the better of him and he actually struck another employee. The hard ones are the "Reduction in Force" moves. Headcount reductions mandated on percentages are a bitter pill to swallow as a manager and horrible for the morale of an organization.
