Woj tweets Celtics rumors. Pierce back to Boston to join Love and Robin Lopez???????

http://www.celticslife.com/2015/06/breaking-kevin-love-opts-out-in.html

ESPN sources say Cavs forward Kevin Love has opted out of the final year of his contract and will be a free agent July 1
— Marc Stein (@ESPNSteinLine) June 24, 2015

Sources: If Kevin Love goes forward with visits in July, expect Boston to sell him on pursuing group of Love, Robin Lopez and...Paul Pierce.
— Adrian Wojnarowski (@WojYahooNBA) June 24, 2015

Sources: Clips offering bench guys to gain trade exception to pay Pierce, but If Celts could get Love - Pierce is in play for Boston return.

I presume Love will sign a one year deal at the max so that he can sign a long term deal year after next when the cap goes up.

He is recovering from the shoulder injury.

Interesting....didn't seem like he liked playing for the Cavs (LeBrons) last year.

Lakers would like to get him as well as the Celtics. He could create a band in LA - Beach Boys Rebooted. :)

If he went to Boston he'd have to kiss and make up with Kelly Olynyk - the guy who ended his season.

Not sure what the Clippers are going to do.

They rolled the dice on Lance Stephenson -

Clips need a few more decent bench players and (same as last year) a SF.

Ainge may promise Love that Olynyk will be shipped out, after all they play the same position. :D

Yes, Doc has to address his bench problem. If only they got by Houston, the Clippers' year would have been a good one even if they would lose to the Warriors in the next round. People tend to write off or forget that the Clippers did a monumental job in beating the Spurs in a 7 games where they won at the Alamo twice to set up an epic win at home on the 7th game, and against an intact defending champs at that. The whole season went sour from that freakish Game 6 loss, otherwise there wouldn't as much gloom in Clippers Nation these days. :)

The west is loaded with uber wings. Perhaps that's what they need him for. I still can't help thinking that he brings more bad than good. I also don't think Doc will succeed where Bird failed as far as Stephenson's attitude is concerned.

Watching the draft and the Lakers just selected D'Angelo Russell from Ohio State.

Surprised they went that way....and now I have to root for this Buckeye to do well. :)

And I just read a rumor that George Karl is having some friction with mgt with regards of DM Cousins. He was just hired 5 months ago by the Kings.

Maybe the Lakers took a point guard because they think they will get Cousins from the Kings.

George Karl is really sticking his neck out in Sacramento.

Looks like the Nuggets will move Tyreke Evans since they drafted Mudiay. Evans was a Karl favorite in Denver.

Perhaps there was a reason he sat out for several years as no one would hire him. He was available for the Lakers

The Celtics surprised their own fans by picking yet another guard at the 16th slot. Boo's and groans. One Terry Rozier was not on the panelists' list of the 3 best available players on the 16th slot. Oh well, that's what we get for not tanking. Nobody is trading with Ainge's platoon of assets. :(

If this happens, just like that, the Lakers will be in the playoffs again. DeAndre may be switching locker rooms at The Staples center too.

Report: LaMarcus Aldridge ‘leaning toward’ signing with Lakers

LaMarcus Aldridge is expected to leave Portland to pursue other opportunities as an unrestricted free agent this summer, with the Spurs being near the top of his list.

The Lakers are there, too, and a recent report suggests that L.A. may in fact be the frontrunner to retain Aldridge’s services.

From Ben Bolch of the Los Angeles Times:

Heard that LaMarcus Aldridge was leaning toward Lakers, a sign that their brand is not only back but never went away despite appearances.

Make no mistake — Aldridge will be looking around at plenty of options, and is open to listening to pitches from any team that has the financial ability to provide him with long-term security as part of a winning situation.

But Los Angeles is appealing, for a variety of reasons. D’Angelo Russell and Jordan Clarkson should have the backcourt locked down for the foreseeable future, Kobe Bryant has at least one more season left, and Julius Randle is a promising prospect who should be fully ready to go after suffering an injury at the very beginning of last season.

Add in the fact that other free agents — like DeAndre Jordan, for example — may be willing to sign on as soon as another All-Star talent does the same, and it’s easy to see why the Lakers, when offering max money, could be an extremely desirable destination.

For once the Lakers have a lot of room under the cap even with Kobe's contract. So on top of that we could see a scenario with K Love who doesn't seem entirely comfortable in Cleveland and with Bron-Bron grumbling and taking a bizarre "The Decision"-like stance plus the inotnations of I-am-the-best-ever, everybody should do as I say, . He could see himself in a Lakers uniform and an aging Kobe passing the torch like a great opportunity. We Lakers fan are again hopeful" we could see the lights of the Playoff this year ... :)

I wouldn't be surprised if Randle is traded for a wing + a 1 or 2. Don't forget that the Lakers got Upshaw. This guy could be THE guy in the middle to give any slasher fits. A Russel, Clarkson, Bryant, Aldridge, Upshaw five looks better to me than a Russle/Clarkson, Bryant, ?????, Randle, Cousins five.

I particularly like that Russel is a lefty and that Clarkson is a righty. Talk about driving pick and roll defenders nuts on horns and P&Rs with a rangy Aldridge setting them.

What I read is that Aldridge is going to sign with the Spurs and Love will re-sign with the Cavs and that yes Randle and even Russell are being considered in a trade with the Kings for Cousins even though the Kings are saying"no"
