JRiver MC Version 18

We're starting to put out Linux builds here:

They're still very rough and incomplete, but they work.

Is there a consensus on which to use, ASIO vs WATAPI, for the output to the DAC in JRiver 20? TIA.

It is WASAPI. But, the answer all depends on what you are connecting to JRiver for playback. If you can do either, then you have all you need to evaluate the alternatives sonically yourself.

I have to confess on fairly limited comparison so far they seem indistinguishable... Interestingly, there does not seem to be a consensus at Computer Audiophile.

The only consensus on CA seems to be "everything matters", and if you think you hear a difference, that is valid enough evidence.

What else is new? I would not go by them on sonics, except maybe on technical compatibility questions. The are a few sane voices there, but how do you tell them from the crazies?
