Was using Kimber 8TC speaker cables and Hero interconnects. Upgraded to MIT Magnum MA loom. Better soundstage, more solid and stable images, better saturation of tone colors and harmonics.

Hi & welcome Jtein! :b

* I am using some KK 8TC speaker cables and KK Hero inteconnects myself in my main setup.
Interesting regarding your upgrade. Thanx for sharing.

I almost think the better question is what cables with what components? I am using Kubala Emotion IC, Speaker cables (complex custom loom with jumpers for the Avantgarde horns and woofers) and Power cables. All Lamm (L2 Reference and ML2 Amps) except for phono head (Allnic H3000). Joe Kubala came to my house at one point after the IC and speaker cables were in for a while and started swapping out power cords. Made a noticeable difference in every component, even the subwoofer amps. The only place where I haven't used a higher end cable is on the PS to my TT, where I have a Shunyata Venom 3. Before the K-S cabling, I used Cardas Reference, largely because they were recommended by Avantgarde and Jim Smith, along with a mix of Shunyata PCs and their then Hydras. Now I have no power conditioning whatsoever, but run dedicated lines to the audio system from a separate subpanel.

Well done whart, you should have at least 15% of the value of your system in cables good system need's good cable regular system need's regular cable just use common sense.

All i mean to say is don't put $3,000.00 worth of cables on a $3,000.00 system $450.00 should be enough, no arm intended.

Anyone found a great cable with Speakon connectors?

I had mine custom made by JPS Labs, but was wondering if anything better was out there.

I make cables with Speakon connectors but they are for my servo-subwoofers (with integrated servo-feedback circuit). What do you need speaker cables with Speakons for? Don't the Evolution Acoustics you use have the Cardas binding posts?

There are 2 Speakon cables connecting the bottom cabinet to mids and the mids to upper cabinet.

Their are the believers & the non believers, i am part of the first group, BUT i also like to keep it reasonable, i have friend's with 13k interconnects they can afford it and it's their money.

Yes there are :) I wish it wasn't so. Nothing would make me happier than not having to worry about cabling!

What's the history to this? Wasn't Bob Fulton credited with the first 'audiophile' cable? I know MIT was an early player in high end cable, then the mass market stuff, particularly Monster, which in my estimation, didn't do much to further the cause, even if the cables were better made than the cheap patch cords that were supplied with mass market gear. And what do the old school horn guys use? Belden wire? Has anybody done an authoritative history of the 'high-end' cable?
