Will iTunes skip right passed redbook to 24 bit HiRez!! ??

I just checked the Apple site and the iTunes news page. Don't see anything about this yet! The link I provided comes from a source that has always been accurate, so I'm surprised that we can't seem to confirm this. Sorry for the early celebration!

I'm guessing, based on rumors and an HDTracks email, that this coming week will see the Beatles 24/44.1 stereo albums on iTunes and HDTracks. It would be very cool if the mono albums were now also offered in 24/44.1!

I would sort of be surprised at that. Apple made a limited run of supposedly only 50,000 USB apples that contained the 24/44.1 files. This was supposed to be a one-time limited edition. Time will tell I guess.

That there were only 50,000 USB drives made doesn't mean that the files don't exist anymore. The beauty of file downloads is the almost zero production cost after placing the files on a storefront. I'd bet you'll see them at a premium price.

Lee-nobody said that Apple destroyed the files after they made the USB apples so of course the files still exist. It doesn't mean they will show up on Itunes next week either. And it will be interesting to see if they do make them available and if so, at what cost. Still glad I have my USB apple though. I have yet to hear the best from these files I'm sure since I don't think I have a cracker-jack DAC.
